Removal of my sig pic
« on: September 16, 2004, 01:25:15 pm »
It is has been asked of me that I remove my sig pic because of complaints by at least more than one person, I have been told that they do not like it.

I was not told who they were, nor what their complaint was. With the exception of only one person who voiced her dissatisfaction quoting biblical references, I have not received any complaints personally. However, as an admin of this forum and a representative of the association which manages it, I am complying with this request.

My thanks to all of you who gave compliments on the sig pic, and there was a lot of you, by far a majority.

Sad to hear it. I for one ain't changing mine, and I am fully exposed. If you got it flaunt it.

On a side note, am I the only one that thinks it is funny that people that don't even play the game anymore get to tell us how to act?

What if you put a "Censored" bar over the nipples?

Well, me, what was too much was the sheer thickness of your Sig. This is much better now, even though I am sure it could be made yet slimmer.

I refuse to cover my nipples.....I am just the way God made me.

FS, is this the kind of slimming you prefer? I even got my Klingon leathers on.

I'd think that an admin could find out what the complaints were etc.  Jeez.

The only problem I have with people's sigs is people who have BIG pics and a lot of text etc.

Bah..... freedom of expression squashed by the conservative right.  I hate censorship...it's a form of cowardice and moral high-handedness that is often abused as badly or more than the actual infraction it's attempting to quash.

While good taste and morality dictate that we should act as adults and good christians or whatever the religion, there is nothing wrong with an occassional image or curse word to spark humor in a situation or group conversation.  The supposed immorality of nudity is poppy-cock.  Did the Romans not build nude and near nude busts throughout the ages.  Didn't and don't the italians, the french and most other civilized societies celebrate the perfection of the human form in fine art and scuplture?  It's all relative to a point of view that is often warped by what is told to us by our parents and churches.

I am a semi-conservative christian and while I don't necessarily agree with everything I see or hear, what right would I have to ask others to change?  Is it becuase the kid's might see this?  Again...Poppy-cock, believe me kids will see a lot and much more than anything I've seen here.  I've raised 3 kids and have 2 grand kids...nothing here even scratches the surface of immorality.  (Yes I'm an old bastard....ooops there's a bad word  ;D

My 2 cents anyways,

V

Seems kinda silly to me that it is considered ok to see exposed male nipples but not exposed female ones in our supposedly equal society.  While I appreciate that you removed the pic due to complaints Tracey, I don't agree with those complaints as I see nothing wrong with nudity.  As long as a sexual act isn't involved I don't consider it pornographic.  Many of the conversations on this forum have been more blatantly sexual and pornographic.  Kroma comes immediately to mind, and the famous "muff" discussions from Taldren.  No one said a thing when I got mooned by a picture of kilt lifting Bruces yet one female nipple and there is protest.  If our society was more accepting of nudity perhaps sexual crime rates might actually go down in the USA and become comparable to the more open European countries that have less trouble with these crimes.

Perhaps a compromise is possible, just a tad of air brushing could make both sides a bit happier..... ;)

To Max,

No one likes a tattle tale.  If Tracey wanted to named names she would have, and its not like it was a big secret anyhow.  At least that person didn't hide their views or their ID and I respect anyone for making their views known up front even if I don't agree with those views.  Its those that slink around in the background that I don't care for.

to be honest....  I felt bad about posting it about 5 minutes after I did so.

It seems I shoot first and ask questions later

Jury's still out on if I should delete the post though.  The quoted post still irks me.

Yeah, it's coming down.  I don't like offending people, and I can't help but think that this is bannable  :-\

it is true though, cartoon nipples are cartoon nipples.  Whether they are on an attractive Klingon chick or a Gorn in a Tutu, does it really make a difference?

An what is wrong with discussing the Mussashi Un-manned Forward Frontier?   That was a damn good strategy!   ;D

Looks good, Chuut!  Would'nt even notice a difference in shade if it weren't for my LCD laptop screen that notices EVERY shade difference

And Diehard, you crack me up!!!! ;D  Funny thing is, I tried upping your karma, but I got an error message saying I have to wait 12 hours between karma actions... guess I already upped it today  :D
