Title: Federation Destroyer Light Carrier Escort

TOS Era, the Federation Destroyer Light Carrier Escort.
This is a kitbash based on Lord Schtupp's work.

The USS Viraat is a unique ship. No others of this class were built. The fighters are housed in the saucer section, hence the enlarged bay at the rear. The registry "NCC-541" is conjecture: I had to come up with SOMETHING..

Also, I created new templates for the registry for the TOS era DD type ships that I use. It includes the PhotoShop PSD files as well as the font I used for the registry.

It depends on the year (and thus the ship's refit). The way I see it, and it could just be me I know, the Y175 refit was a good time to say "hey let's do the TMP era refits now, and have Enterprise refits for everyone!" so that the game could actually show some progression through the technologies.

Additionally, the Saladin-class DD gets another interesting model later on, when it becomes an Advanced Technology Destroyer: 2 engines.

However, this Fed DDV was a unique ship.. and I don't think it never really progressed beyond TOS era designs .;>

Ah! I agree!
BUT it's an actual design flaw of this ship. I did not see anywhere any mention of an improved shuttle/fighter launchrate over a normal destroyer.
