Hi all,
Just poking my ears in again. I'm looking for some specific data and I'm hoping the folks on here have it.
Does anyone know what the ISC fleet ranks are? The SFC ranks do seem to be Starfleet/Klingon-equivalent. I was wondering if anyone had the original SFB material, or just knows that the SFC ranks are the same as the SFB originals.
Also, what would you prefer to see in a story? ISC ship names, or as the SFB source material seems to indicate, unnamed but numbered vessels.
i.e. ISCS Insurance Assessor ;D or CCZ-12?
Also, any other data you might have on the races of the ISC and their profiles, the use of proper ISC tactics and weapons, basically any ISC data you have, please feel free to drop it in this thread.
Oh, and I already have the Memory Alpha and Wikipedia data.
Thanks,
Jaeih.
P.S. Happy New Year!

Hi Jaeih,
Did some looking around on Google. Have you seen this data?

Myself, I think numbered ship's would be a little more original in that it's different from everybody else.
No one seems to just number their ships in Trek. I would have figured TOS Klinks might have, but not after TNG started fleshing them out.
Numbering ships is rather impersonal, which seems to match the ISC ideal to me. But then, I am not a real SFB fan, and don't know as much as Andy or La'ra.
Good to hear from you, btw. If you have a finished version of Kestrel, I request an Email of said story. La'ra can provide my address. I'm Jonesing for new Trek...Any new Trek... The cut me off on TV, the bastards...

Hiya Andy - Nice find, I love seeing stuff condensed from all the SFB sources (which I don't have) - I've always enjoyed the ISC and this was a fun, if slightly dated page
cheers

Actually, I'd disagree. It makes it seem to me that the ISC considers their ships disposable, which I don't believe is the case. The ISC psyche, so to speak, would actually indicate the opposite, IMO. Sethan's SFB ship list had some ISC ship names which would be good examples.
As for ranks - S'Tasik and I made up an ISC rank system for our stories. If you'd like to take a look, Jaeih, let me know and I'll PM it to you or something.

By default I defer to greater minds on the subject. I don't know a thing about the ISC. Or much about SFB for that matter.
I still like the numbering ideas tho... :'(

Hi all, thanks for the replies so far!
Kieran, I'd love to get your rank structure(s). Email it to me at RISJavelin@gmail.com
Ronjar, I've emailed the .pdf version of 'Kestrel' to the address from your profile here.
I think I'm going to combine the ISC naming conventions for ships into name & registry, along the lines of:
RIS Kestrel ChR-3080
USS Renown NCC-2545, and
ISCS Insurance Assessor CAAZ-25 or
ISCS Independent Adjudicator CLZ-54

Jaeih, did you get my email?
