There's a mod in the works for the original Elite Force based in part on the original Franz Joseph blueprints.

Also, after digging around those boards, I found this (http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/elitefarce/mods/starbase11/index.html) mod.  Incredible stuff.
