As promised, my review of the first of the series.

Eventually I'll get round to reviewing OP and SFC III

Great review, lets hope it encourages more people to buy these 'classic' games and get online.
Looking forward to your next reviews

I agree, great review man! I still play SFC1 and your review really helps show many of the bright points in why SFC1 was such a great game. Nice to hear somebody actually crediting the SFB rules for once in a reveiw.
As for SFC OP and SFC3, please be kind to SFC3 ok? I play SFC1, OP, and SFC3 and although SFC3 is NOT SFB related, I still play it a lot and it has some potential to be a good TNG game. Its not very flashy with bridge graphics (like Bridge Commander) but it has lots of replay ability online. Its very fun to play SFC3 in muliplayer mode then in single player mode. Just wish their where more races and weapons from TNG in it.

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

I try to be honest about games, my number one criteria is: Is it fun?
SFC sure is.
In time I'll get to OP and SFC III.

Be sure to test the dynaverse2 and 3 (you'll never leave)
SFC2 OP and SFC 3
have the status along with BF1942 and NWN of always being installed on my PC

Just wondering, where/when were those screenshots added?
It was clearly an early (pre-release) build of the game, and I don't think I have seen those any where on the net.

No idea, the site editor adds screen shots, I only submit text reviews.
-
Any more reviews coming?

I'll tell you what I miss from SFC1, the disruptor graphic. While it was kind of hokey and strange, it was much more visual interesting than the machine gun bolts that are the current disruptor graphic. I understand the reasoning for having changed the graphic, so that you could tell if the shot had hit or not, but the old graphic added a lot of visual interest.

It is still in SFC2, as Heavy Disruptor?
-
Not quite the same texture.
