Title: Cheating/Modding?

well my clan recently got involved in a war with another...and one of their players is almost always beating us

now its not like that is impossible, but we are somewhat suspicious...he seems to have an invisible ECM shift or something because our firepower (especially heavy weapons like photons) is often useless unless we use drones or plasma (and we dont specialise in rom/gorn/mirak/drone cruisers)

just some things that have happened when playing him by various members of my clan:

- At range 3, a full barrage of hellbores missed him (i dont know what ship and whether they were overloads but still!)
- As above but at range 4 and with a 2 ECM shift in favour of the firer
- Hornet 1s from a Paladin obliterate Hornet 3s from a Overlord....with no help from the dread (no firepower, no tractors, no nothing - they were tractoring and shooting at each other)! isnt that like, impossible? lol

i know he wasnt using erratics on the 2nd one nor the others to my knowledge

ah well maybe we just suck but to be honest im not sure that is the case

plz help me find out whether we are unlucky, outmatched, stupid, or being cheated on

Hmm, how many battles have you fought against this person thus far?  If it's only been a few, perhaps try a few more before really suspecting, however, if you've played quite a few in this war, and he's been trouncing everything with what appear to be suspicious numbers, hmmm...Try a two or three on one battle.  Have one person tractor the guy if they can, whilst the others lay mines and other such items to see if they do damage or hit.  If he's immobile and a mine doesn't hit...well, then you might have your eyebrows raised in what is probably justified suspicion.

alot of times lag will create what you are seeing.

i dont think they were lagging, at least not that much
