Apoligies to all...I didn't mean to leave things hanging like that, but I got distracted with other things.  That and being on a dial-up sucks pretty bad, I'm lucky if I can even get on the Dynaverse Forums twice a week.  And I do try everynight.   With Winter setting in, I should be spending more time on my computer, which means, I can finally finish this thing off once and for all.

Excellent. I was rather enjoying this tale, and remember being curious as to where you were going with it.

I'll have to give it a re-read to refresh my memory for your continuation.

Deep Space Nine: Infirmary

Bashir: "I think I have it."
Doctor: "You do?"
Bashir: "I do, it was almost too easy."
Doctor: "But i had already tried a similar method, and it failed."
Bashir: "It failed, because Federation Transporters have built in safety protocols that interfere with what I was attempting to do."
Doctor: "So you used a Cardassian Transporter?"
Bashir: "All the simulations show that it will work."
Doctor: "Simulations are one thing, which one of our 'guests' are you going to test it on?"

Deep Space Nine: Ward Room
Riker: "You're sure this will work?"
Bashir: "Quite sure, Cardassian Transporters are not as sophisticated as Federation or even Klingon Transporters, but because of thier lack of redudant systems, I believe that I can safely use the Transporter to extract the parasite from the hosts."
Janeway: "So the nanoprobe line of thinking was a dead end?
Doctor: "No, as a matter of fact, the nanoprobes play a key part in the extraction process." he gestures to the monitor, "a small amount of nanoprobes are injected near the parasite, they distract the parasite enough so we can get a Transporter lock on it, and beam it to a containment feild."
Calhoun: "You should just beam them into space."
Selar: "Everything we know about the parasites seems to indicate that they can survive for a limited amount of time in a vacuum.  Simply putting them into space puts them in a position where they can infest another host."
Wilson: "We can't be seriously considering killing them, are we?"
Sisko: "If we can reason with them, then no.  But like the Borg, they aren't leaving us many options."
Chakotay: "We can reason with the Borg, but only when reasoning gives them an advantage."
Shelby: "Then we need to find something that could give them an advantage."
OParis: "Why would we even want to give them anything that could be considered an advantage?  We need to get them out of Starfleet, and I don't give a damn about how we do it."
Worf: "I have to agree with Admiral Paris, we must get them out, how we do it is irrelevant."
Janeway: "Agreed, get them out first, then reason with them.  If they die in the process of getting them out of our people, so be it."
Kira: "How soon can you begin?"
Bashir: "With Miles helping, two maybe three hours."
Riker: "Make it so."

Deep Space Nine: Ops
Dax: "Ops to Rotarran, widen your patrol to fifteen million kilometers, report any readings."
Worf(Comm): "Acknowledged."
Nog: "Chief O'Brien reports that they will have the transporter modifications completed in forty minutes."
ch'Thane: "I am picking up a strange reading, bearing one-eleven mark thirty-four."
Dax: "Ops to Quixote, picking up a reading in your quadrant, report."
Wilson (Comm): "We see it, it appears to be a large bioship.  Much larger than the ones that ambushed us earlier."
Dax: "Red Alert."
Nog: "Defensive systems online, Phaser capacitor charging, Torpedo launchers cycling."
Sisko, entering from office: "Status."
Dax: "A Large Bio-ship has been detected by the Quixote, it appears to be on a direct course for the station."
Sisko nods: "Recall all Federation Starships to a defensive perimeter twelve thousand kilomters from the station, have the Klingons and the Defiant form up in reserve behind the station.  On Second thought, I'll take the Defiant myself, Nog, ch'Thane, you're with me."
Dax: "Nerys, the bioship has just...launched a thousand smaller ships. All of them are on a direct course for the station, the carrier is altering its heading to take it into the wormhole."
Sisko, turning on the turbolift: "Deal with the fighters, the Klingons and I will take care of the Carrier."

Deep Space Nine: Defiant Docking port
The Defiant blows her docking clamps and manuevers to join the Klingon fleet forming up behind the station.  Voyager, Titan, Trident, and Excalibur form up in between the station and the on rushing carrier.  The camera closes on the carrier, which is then hit by a disrupter beam.  The camera zooms out, scene changed, two Romulan Warbirds burning surrounded by the bio-fighters, darting back and forth firing disrupter barrages.  A third Romulan Warbird swoops in on another firing run.  Sheilds flashing as smaller fighters harras it.

RIS Praetor's Pride: Bridge
Lieutenant: "Shields are down, hull breach on H deck."
Sela: "Divert auxilliary power to disrupters!  Keep firing!"
Lieutenant: "Foreward Disrupters offline, hull breach on decks D, F and G.  Singularity containment weakening!"
Sub-Lieutenant: "Commander! Ships decloaking. Klingons!"

A wing of Klingon Bird of Preys fly around the battered Warbird strafing the carrier with disrupter fire.  The carrier takes several direct hits, but the camera swings back to the stricken Warbird, which promptly implodes.  Several biofighters are pulled off course and implode when they make contact with the event horizon of the now loosed Quantum Singularity.  The Klingons adjust their course and make another pass.  Bright gold phaser fire mixes in with the green disrupter bolts as they pock mark the surface of a carrier.  The Defiant sweeps across the axis of the ship, taking a couple of disrupter hits from the carrier.  Camera pans to Deep Space Nine, shields crackling green under an almost relentless barrage of disrupter fire.

Dax: "Shields are down to seventy percent, they may not be armed with much, but a thousand of them are really taking a toll on our sheilds."
Kira: "What is the Trident doing?!"

From the Trident's main phaser array a series of short bursts fly out in random directions. (For a better description watch TNG:BoBW II)  Occasionally one of the bursts hits a biofighter and destroys it.  Following suit, the Titan and the Excalibur pull the same thing.  While Voyager rapidly targets and destroys fighters with her phasers.

Ro: "The Klingons are taking a beating, they've lost five ships.  The Defiant's sheilds are down, they don't seem to be able to stop the carrier.
Dax: "Shields are down to forty percent!  We've got localized sheild breaches near upper pylon three.
Ensign: "Elevated Nuetrino levels coming from the Wormhole, something is coming through!"

The wormhole opens up and out come nine Jem Hader Attack craft, all bearing straight down on the Carrier, in a matter of minutes the Carrier is blown apart.

RIS Phoenix
Serilla: "Thank you for the save Fleet Captain.  It appears that your ships are far better suited for engaging these craft that ours.
chatI: "You had already dealt with most of the ships when we arrived, Commander."
Serilla: "True, but that Carrier took out three Warbirds on its own.  Unfortunately, Commander Sela died when the Command Ship imploded."
chatI: "Did she really Commander?"
Serilla: "This time, yes.  Captain, I repeat my request that we join forces, I dare say that niether of our fleets seperately stand any chance of accomplishing our mission."
chatI: "Perhaps."
Serilla: "Captain, our mission is of paramount importance, if we do not complete it.  The Entire galaxy could be overrun by these...things."
chatI: "You are correct Commander, perhaps we should start with this.  The transmission you are recieving is the computer core from the Starfleet shuttlecraft.  If it is accurate, we can be at the Parasite homeworld in four days."

End Act XXIV

(Also bear in mind, regarding Nebula vs Excelsior...the Excelsior could have ambushed the Nebula)

Star Trek XI Act XXV

Yeah, I'm here to stay, I hope.  Internet connection willing and all.

Deep Space Nine

Admiral Paris sits behind his desk in his makeshift office when his terminal beeps twice.  Reaching over to activate the Cardassian terminal, he reads over the page of information that scrolls across his screen.
OParis: "Oh no..."

Ward Room

Janeway: "We may have a bit of a situation here, Chancellor Martok?"
Martok: "Three days ago, Toral, Son of Duras staged a coup against my government.  He succeeded.  Ships that were borderline loyal to me, have joined his cause.  Toral now controls almost a third of the Klingon Fleet."
OParis: "To make matters worse, this was sent out twelve hours ago from Federation Headquarters."
Necheyev (On monitor): "...While the Federation would normally remain neutral in the internal affairs of the Klingon Empire, the actions of the former Chancellor Martok against Federation intrests, and their association with the rebellion, leads the Federation to recognize Toral as the new legitimate leader of the Klingon Empire."
OParis: "That's not the worst of it.  It appears that Toral is rooting out Martok's supporters through out the Empire, and has even sent some ships to assist the parasites against us."
Martok: "There was no indication that Toral or anyone close to him was infested, I had a supporter that was considered his most trusted advisor, I have no way of knowing whether he still lives, but there was nothing suspicious about him, at least, nothing that was out of the ordinary."
Worf: "Chancellor...Toral is an opportunist, same as his father.  He most likely is not infested yet, he may have saw that our warriors were not happy having to engage only part of the Federation Fleet, but leave the other half...."
The door opens to admit Admiral Ross.
Ross: "It's good to be back."
Sisko: "It's good to have you back sir."
Dax: "Dax to Wardroom, I have an incoming transmission from Cardassia, it's Garak."
Garak: "Greetings, friends.  I'm afraid I've already told your Captain Chakotay that Cardassia cannot spare any ships to help you...exterminate your bug problem."
Sisko: "Garak, we're not looking for ships, we're looking for transporters."
Garak: "Captain Sisko? You're alive.  Well, I guess they can't keep a good man down for long.  Transporters you say.  Hmm.  We might be able to spare you a few of those, now the question remains, just what you want to pay for them, and why do you need them?"
OParis started to say something, but Sisko raised a hand to silence him.
Sisko: "We need the transporters for some medical work, and as for payment, I think we can arrange something don't you agree MR. Garak?
Garak: "Of course Captain, I'll consider it arranged.  Good day gentlemen."
Ross: "We have the parasites that were in myself and Jean-Luc, and we've identified how they masked themselves from our scanners.  As I see it, we have two objectives, which one is first gentlemen?"
OParis: "Earth.  If we break the Parasites grip on Starfleet Command, we will have won this war."
Janeway: "Qo'nos, the Home Defense fleet is compromised, we will have to fight our way close enough to get them out.  We don't have the man power, we need to strike Toral now, while he is still consolidating his gains."
Sisko: "Qo'nos.  We'll need the Klingon's help to take Earth."
Riker: "Altair.  With a fient towards Earth, we can sieze the ship yards and the mothball yards, restock our fleet and handle either."
Ross: "As much as the extra ships would be nice, we need man power to staff them.  Where do you propose we get them?"
Kira: "Bajor."
Chakotay: "Qo'nos.  Even using Bajoran crewmen and skeleton crews, many of those ships at Altair, even the BattleShips, are in no condition to be run, especially with a skeleton crew.
Ross: "Allright, Qo'nos it is.  However, Will, your idea to head for Altair does bring to mind an interesting proposal."

Valdore

Picard: "Commander, I must thank you again for allowing me passage.  It's good to see you again as well."
Donatra: "Indeed Captain.  I am glad to see you are back to yourself again.  It must have been difficult to witness what you were doing, but be unable to stop it."
Sub-Commmander: "Commander, we are approaching the Altair system."
Donatra: "Slow to Impulse, ahead maximum stealth speed."
Picard: "To business, at these coordinates, is the location of the Federation's largest Mothball yards.  Most of the best ships were picked out and rebuilt for the Dominion War, but the one we want is still here."
Lieutenant: "These yards, are huge, they must be the largest in the quadrant."
Picard: "They are actually.  Utopia Planetia is our largest production yard, yes.  But the Altair yards do more than just produce ships, they are responsible for a large portion of the fleet's refitting.  In fact I can't think of a single starship that hasn't been here at least once in her career.  They are also very well defended.  I would advise you set your course one-three-six mark two-eleven.  The Breen tore a rather large hole in the cloak detection net surrounding the facility.  The hole has been repaired, almost, if we're lucky we should be able to slip through the net without so much as a blip showing up on their sensors."
Donatra: "Romulans don't believe in luck."
Helm: "Two minutes to detection perimeter."
Sub-Commander: "You did not bring many of your people with you, two dozen Humans and four dozen Bajorans, I believe you would have a hard time crewing one of those Battleships
with just a crew of seventy."
Picard: "We're not here for the Battleship..."

USS Titan

Ross: "All ships form up.  Remember, minimal damage to all the ships.  We're after Toral, not the Klingon fleet.
Riker: "Riker to Rotarran.  Hold your ship out of range and wait for my signal to start your run."
Worf: "Acknowledged."
Data: "Here they come."
Ross: "All ships, engage."
Riker: "Attack pattern Zeta-four. Fire at will."
Data: "I am only detecting forty three capitals ships in the Klingon fleet.  Latest intelligence indicated that Toral had access to over one hundred and seventy five."
Troi: "Lets count our blessings that they aren't here."
Sloane: "Ships are engaging, all forty-three Klingon ships have engaged our fleet.  Sheilds are down to eighty-four percent."
Riker: "Riker to Worf.  Go."

The Rotarran streaks by the engaged fleet and blasts its way through the fighter screen around Qo'nos.  After establishing planetary orbit, Chancellor Martok beams into the High council chamber and issues a challenge to the young Toral.  Toral in a typical Klingon fashion accepts.  The two begin their duel, Bat'leths clanging...

Valdore

Picard: "Almost there.  Picard to Barclay, have you found him?"
Barclay: "Yes, Captain. He's aboard and clean."
Picard: "Excellent, brief him quickly, we'll be there in one minute.
Barclay: "Aye, Captain."
Donatra: "We're entering Transporter Range.  Which ship are you heading for Captain."
Picard gesturing at a certain ship: "All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by."
The certain ship's registry swings into view, USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A.

End Act XXV

Edited to clean it up a bit
I know I may catch some flak over the A.  But I never really cared for Shatner's books, they never really made a whole lot of sense.  Besides, with Picard's mystery guest, the A makes a perfect fit.

I've started to read this story whole again ;) Q have you considered showing it to Patrick Stewart. There was a rumour he wanted to do another Star Trek with TNG Crew. But this story adequately sold or given or borrowed to them would repair entire franchise and safe ST nevertheless It would even summarise entire 14 years of ST :o

But it was only mine suggestion and it cannot be done without your actions :) I wish it came true. I would then attack all ST fanclubs to vote for it :D

Ah, but to even consider it, so many permissions would have to be obtained, Peter David's, the people that are responsible for DS9 season 8.  Also, can you imagine the budget for that film?  Stewart, Frakes, Spiner, Sirtis, Burton, Dorn, McFadden, then you've got Mulgrew, Beltran, Russ, Wang, McNeil, Dawson, Visitor, Auberjonos (sp?), Siddig, Shimmerman, Forbes, DeBoer, Brooks. (would have to find out why he and Paramount aren't talking too) The Introduction would be five minutes just to fit ALL the names in.  It would be nice, but there's a lot of issues to tackle, and then theres the big one, they don't take unsolicited script proposals.  So if they wanted, they'd have to contact me first, and this could be considered public domain, they could probably just take it if they REALLY wanted it.

Another thought:

My mod, Universe At War, could be used to stage some of the ship battles mentioned here.

Is there no end to the fun?  Perhaps I'll start a screenshot thread just for this..    ;D

I had started with depicting some of the battles using SFC3, but space became an issue on my website so I pulled the story off of there.  I stopped doing screenshots as the battles got progressively larger.  I'm not a scripter, and SFC3 was a step backwards in my opinion for Starfleet Command.  Using your UAW mod would be the best way to take screenshots and use them as...illustrations.  But without the space on my site, I just stopped caring about pictures and focused more on the story.  Perhaps if I get EAW installed again, I might install your UAW (I still have the install files, just haven't had the desire to install EAW when i've got OP  :)) and try to do the battles there, maybe I can get a little bit more descriptive.  My Battle descriptions, as you can tell, are vague and frankly...very rushed.

Indeed Q but if Peter Jackson was able to make an entire LOTR saga then there are people who could make a one 3hour ST movie.

It could be dedicated to the past members of ST Crews and stage crews like James Doohan, Jerry Goldsmith... etc. :)

Such movie would kick entire Star Wars Saga and lenghthen the ST lifespan over the Star Wars'es. :)

B&B have brught ST into a ruin :(

I wish the reality was different :(

Nevertheless while I read this story I feal like in the cinema watching it on the big screen :D Nice job :)

Good stuff, Q, and you're getting some pretty high-level attention here, too!

This whole concept really would make a Kick-Arse movie, right up there with Bill Shatner and the Reeves-Stevens' 'The Return'.

Keep it coming.

At this writing I have not finished reading it yet, lol. I will get some screens up asap. If anyone else would like to, by all means. SFC3 would be good as well. I'd like to see lots of illustrations for the story. The key would be to get the right ships on the right sides, etc.. and let it play out, grabbing some shots from a replay film, like I did in a thread on the general forum. This will be fun.. and by the way..

Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays!
