TMP SFB-Style Federation CVA
« on: June 23, 2004, 08:41:40 pm »
After seeing Wolfglen's work the other day, I decided to take his 'Victory" class ship and tweak it until it became a SFB-ish TMP F-CVA ship. I'd like to also thank Thu11s since I shamelessly took a deflector from his CVA model to make this one work. Also, Strafer who helped me with a bit of his time to finalize the under-carriage texture around the deflector.

As I said in the other thrad efore Taldren went down, nice work.

BTW slightly OT but I figured you'd know the answer what with doing all those TMP NCL variants: on the Fed NCD do the drone racks replace the photons on a one-for-one basis, there're 2 photons on the NCL below the bridge, so should I just put a drone rack model on my NCl below the bridge and voila it becomes and NCD? Or is there more?
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then the deepest spy cannot discern it, nor the wise make plans against it.

The other 2 racks are somewhere at the rear of the ship..  who knows where. ;)

That's perfect as I have textured racks at the rear of the ship on top of the shuttlebay. (I'm using WZ's Ptolemy as a base, i.e. I nicked the saucer and pylons wholesale ;D

Beautiful.  Time to take this model out for a spin in the not-so-Neutral Zone...  ;D

And as I said on the "other" forum, this is a really cool model.

It is definately growing on me, but still reminds me too much of the CVS.

I agree with others that the saucer of the TOS DN is a fat ugly thing. . .and that the twin engined flat bed is flat out ugly. But I would still love to see more Fed DN's with the fat ugly saucer. Especially the upgunned bruts with 6 photons and umpteen phasers. . . .but that's just me I suppose.  ::)

On another note, I have just recently scene Fire Soul's NCL's (in OP3.3). WHAT COOL SHIPS! That is truely original work! I have (over the years) used various Locknar's in the NCL slot before finally settling on the Atrahasis SFB NCL. While the SFB NCL is good for the general TOS flavor I like in SFB, the FS NCL is something really good.

"Ohhhh Caaaanadaaaaa..." I'm afraid that is the only part I know. But at least you didn't have to hear me sing it! I love the model. I plan to use it as my standard heavy carrier.
