what do u all think u are trying to do
u all know me i never speak out but this realy pisses me off . WHY dont u just take the old forums and us them ,WHY are u trying to reinvent the wheel and dont give me the BS this is better .

ive pm erik so lets see who is who here ,I want to keep the old forums the way they are and i will put my money ware my mouth is and 4 those of u that know me u no im not kidding

This is not about you. This is about the reality of Taldren Inc. closing
it's doors forever and dealing with it.

The group that this forum represents, is a non-partisan one which
seeks to keep the Dynaverse servers up and running for some time
to come.

It's a new day, time to leave the past (Taldren forums) behind us.

Adding this in here along with the post I made in response to this in the taldren forums

I think you need to make it clear that what you are saying is that you are requesting that the new forum use the UBB threads instead of the software being used.

The reason that "it got nowhere" to talk to me what I have no control over what is being done on Dynaverse.net

dave i know its not about me , its about the fourms all im say is y change it ,and when it come to servers i know all about it . the old forums are just that(old ) all they need is and update with all the new bells and wishtles and we can keep all the years of posts. and non-partisan well we will see .

i run and own a few companys 1 of them being the 3rd large atm deployer in canada and i know how to deal with closing companies and from what i here only the us office is closing .

there is no need to change the forums that is my point if it a money thing i have offer free hosting and support 4 the old forums and even will pay 4 the forum upgrade whitch is only 120 buck

and that is a non-partisan offer i want NOTHING !!!!

Dave is right, but more than that give SMF a chance. It will grow on you, and the structure of the forums and the look should help provide a comfort level. If you have any questions about forum use please feel free to contact any admin. We'll be more than happy to help.

I like the look of this new forum, it seems slicker then the previous board.

well it boils down to two thing
1 there is nothing wrong with ubb and to have poeple (not All) redo every thing rereg,ad sig,and so on when its not needed is beyond me

2nd we lose all our old post

You do realize how much of a pain transferring everything over would be? Especially since this isnt exactly a TALDREN site directly

Actully, I have the converter, i wrote a merger, launch was planned. The date got moved by a premature announcment and i ended up with no data to import, otherwise your accounts and posts would have been here.

An archive would be fine, but can we keep our post-count? I didn't change my name so it would be relatively easy to transfer my stats, but if you changed your name and want your data anyway you'd have to tell them I suppose.

Its a problem with the server, there is a soloution, but it makes ugly refresh pages between posts and login etc. Truly disgusting, gonna see if i can find a better soloution first.

Taldren was never slow for me assuming the server wasnt acting up - which most of the time it wasnt.

I'm on a slow connection...and it took forever for the threads to load up.

However, I have roughly the same load here and It's all done in 30 seconds

Yeah...but a reply at the bottum of a thread that adresses someone five posts up can be confusing to...

The guy before you thinks you just called him a buthead...hehe

I guess quoting is a good habit to get into now if your adressing someone specific....

The only complaint I have about this place...I had Taldren show up in white when I signed in...much easier on the eyes...but I don't have that option here.

Try highlighting the text of posts, the background will be white, with blue type-face, might help.
