SS conestoga
« on: May 25, 2003, 01:40:16 pm »
i've been dabbling with 3d max for a couple of years now, & it was about F'ing time that i started modelling something. so i've decided to model the "ss conestoga" (wich was briefly seen on a computerscreen in de enterprise episode "terra nova"). anyone wants to take a stab at her, putting her in SFC?

thanx in advance

here she is :

Very cool man!!!  Great job!!!
the design is cool too...but if I were you I'd mess with the ship's proportions
like making the hull thinner(not the command section though)
that is unless you are fine with it as it is

Awesome though

It looks like the "Conestoga".

I was curious if this person was still around as apparently they have made this model but it was never converted.

Didn't realize people don't know what the Conestoga is....  ::)

I already know its not available "else where" - so the question is pretty much posed to the original poster or someone else working on it who is familiar with canon ships.

Conestoga.  A colony ship launched from Earth in 2067 for the planet Terra Nova.  The ship arrived in 2076, at which time it was deconstructed to form the basis for the colony.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

See what a little cage rattling does.... ;)

I have made my own Conestoga for SFC3, its a little "rough" but its alright for being my first model from scratch ever.  Now only if I could figure out how to skin it...... ???

Did you happen to find the model? Even if it isn't finished I wouldn't mind dabbling with what you have done so far.  Unfortunately the one I was working on is on another computer on the other side of the state so I cannot work on what I have.

the mesh is close to the pics but this "enterprised" version looks not as good as those pics of Conestoga which have been out before the Enterprise series

You must be confused.  The Conestoga never existed prior the Enterprise series.

well i was finally able to get a little more work done on this babyand got the nacelles completed all i ahve to do now is tweak the mesh and add the forward sensor antenas. as she sits she at 6800 poly exactly but i hope to reduce that with some slicing and welding to make it one contiguous mesh

Very nice!

The sad thing is, I really can't use it as it was intended in SFC3, as I already have the J-Class as a freighter, which seems to be the only role this could really fill, and at that, you are really only allowed one model/freighter in the loadout.

would anyone object to a combat version of the conestoga? i have an idea of canning the atmospheric thrusters and adding a shuttle bay and a weapons pod it would make a pretty good light cruiser
