Help with great models but no readme files, PLEASE.
« on: May 22, 2003, 10:46:04 pm »
I CURRENTLY RUN SEVERAL MODS ON MY SFC3 AND HAVE ONLY FOUND CONVERSIONVERSIONS SITE TO HAVE SHIPS THAT I CAN EASY ADD VIA DEFAULTCORE AND DEFAULTLOADOUT SPECS. HOW DO I ADD A SHIP IF IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A README FILE OR ANY DEFAULT INFO??? I'VE GOT ABOUT 50 SHIPS DOWNLOADED NOW BUT CANNOT ADD THEM TO MY GAME. AND IT MAKES ME SICK TO SEE GUYS  BASHING OTHERS AS IDIOTS FOR NOT READING README FILES THAT AREN'T INCLUDED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

whats with the caps- dam. 1st off all the modders spend a little of there free time figuring out how to use software. I have seen files with readmes. I also know there is a ship install tutorial somewhere.  I can't remember where as I do not have the game, did'nt bother to read it.

let me speak from experiance. most people realize that those people who download there ships are not going to use the default file that they put time into making. so they figure that why do that extra work if noone is going to use them anyways. so that is why any of my ships dont come with any files. there are so many tutorials out there to say how to do a generic ship add too. but if u need to know just reply and i will try to give an easy way of doing a ship addition for u.

Alright I just downloaded and read Chris Jones tutorial on SFC2 to SFC3 conversion. So my guess is just create the desired info in a Readme file that contains the necessary defaultcore and defaultloadout specs, then and the same info to the dfc file and dflo file as well as adding the ship itself to the models folder. In other words if the readme info isn't there create whatever's missing yourself.

Yes, thats what I said. Use Ecel, and dont be accusational to the workers in the soupkitchen, i.e, people who provide a free service.
