Mackie's 5 new ships to be done (with luck) tomorrow..

I see that they put the tumbsup emoticon back... good.. (now if they could enable a "classic look" I'd be happy again).

Here's a repost of what I posted over at TheMackieStuff:

But, they're done as soon as I adjust the registry on the Sentry and Adelphi.  The others are done now.

So, the completed ships are:
Armada

And the other one I did today you didn't know about.. the Magellan

Chesterfield

And the remaining ones (and the one thing needing to be done yet)
Sentry (registries need to be fixed yet)

Adelphi (with fixed bottom texture, registries need to be completed)

So there you are..  Hope to have the registries done by tomorrow.. and if I could sneak Paint Shop Pro and the fonts onto the computer at work, I'd do them there tonight.

Thanks, but Mackie does most of the work... all I do is:

a) Convert the file from Lightwave to a 3ds format.

b) Import the file into 3dsmax and remove the box around the mesh and rotate it to fit the flat plane (noseforeward)

c) Pick up the materials from the .3ds material assignments
(at this point, the ship is ready as a break mod, where it's exported as such)
(if the registries need to be adjusted or any other texture work needs to be done, it's usually done at this point)

d) Join the parts together to form a solid mesh

e) Import some hp/dps (the closest match in my opinion)

f) Save the mesh as a .MAX file

g) Export the mesh as a .MOD file

and then add credits (if necessary) and archive it up.  Mackie is the creative one here (unless I add texture work), otherwise I'm just a starship mechanic.
