about Conquest Campaign editing (hex taking)
« on: May 18, 2003, 02:15:10 pm »
I know this is a downtime for the forums, but I have a question about editing the Conquest Campaigns. I have used the Artifex editor, and made a map with extra AI races... in order to test it properly, as in how agressive the AI is, so on. Run experiments.
The problem is that during the Conquest missions, it takes almost sixty tries to convert an enemy planet or base over to yours, as well as flip said hex. How does one alter this so that once planets are attacked successfully, they convert over instantly? It'll help to see how the AI behaves during this instance, so I can run proper experiments, as well as so that they are more interesting.
Can this be done? Thank you for any and all replies...

I have run into this problem as well. Although it never took more than maybe 8 attempts. I have seen it on other hexes besides planets as well. It seems to be hexes with higher economies. I have a theory though haven't tested it enough to prove anything. But it seams that if you 1st take all the surrounding hexes, the planet will convert faster. Would make sense if its true, as it would cut the supply lines.

I have made new maps but was unaware that new AI races could be used. Glad you brought that up
