Activision, do you realise how bad you are at this patch thing?

I mean, with SFC2, Khoromag, who were hired by taldren, made at least 6 patches to improve gameplay, and Activision have made a BETA Patch. After 6 months, you have released a beta patch with 50 fixes, but the official patch should have been out just after Christmas. If other companies can do it, why can't you? You are one of the top 200 publishers are you not?

If an official patch is not released by the end of June, i shall be greatly disappointed. The beta patch did fix the major issues (and frankly ones that shouldnt have been problems in the first place - eg. ships can follow cloaked ships...) , but other bugs remain and playing an UNSUPPOTED BETA version of a game (which should be one of the best star trek games of all time), for 3 MONTHS is just insulting. It just doesnt feel like a real game when you see the '1.01 Beta 2 build 500' sign on the screen.

PLEASE can somebody from activision give a response to this with information of the official patch release date?

First, this is the Taldren Forums.. Activision doesn't come here that much.. to post a message to Activision go to :

http://gaming.startrek.com/cgi-bin/WebX

and go into the Starfleet Command III forum.

Second, Taldren writes the game patches.. Activision QA's the patches and does a secondary beta test on the patch, if the patch deals with all issues, it becomes official... thus it gives a look of a 1 patch policy with Activision...

Third, re-read the SFC3 1.01 Update.rtf file in your SFC 3 folder, there are over 150 game fixes, not 50... some game fixes are not listed by activision in this file.

Fourth, Taldren is in the process of making an official patch for SFC 3, however, with their work on another game for a different company (Black 9 for the company Majesco), Taldren had to take time to work on Black 9 for the E3 game meet... After E3 is over, Taldren will resume work on the SFC 3 patch to get it ready to send to Activision...

after Activision recieves the Patch, they will QA the patch, then send it down to the Visioneers Beta Test Team (Activision) for testing, then if all the known issues are fixed, then the patch will be released as Official, at least Official according to Activision.... Taldren's game support usually lasts much longer than the game publishers support.

I hate to be a pessimist but this could be a long wait. What if activision doesn't like this patch? Another beta? Hope not.

Anything is better than what Activision did with medieval total war...that game had ONE patch,plus a second patch they call an expansion.

Least Taldren got Activision to let them make another patch.
