SFC3 tools question
« on: May 14, 2003, 12:13:13 pm »
Milksahpe has trouble impoting models with more than 1 LOD.  I saw a work around this. Something to do with viewing the model ind the SFC3 mod veiwer. Then it would save an x file.  This x file could then be imported into milkshape without screwing up all the textures.

I have not found an SFC3 version of the viewer. Am I remembering that old thread wrong. Which tool saves a mod file as an x file?  Also where could I download it?

I hope this can be a work around for some trouble I am having back converting ships to SFC1.

Thanks for any replys in advance.

Well, there is this...http://208.57.228.3/SFC3Stuff/SFC3_ModelTools.zip (SFC Unverse- SFC3 Modding Tools)

it has that ReCacher in it- it creates an X file of the model.... don't forget, you have to do each one (.mod and _brk.mod)..
beware, it tries to send an error report on Windows XP, or for me it does...

hope I was of some help

The recache tool crashes on me as well when I try to close it, but it does the job it is supposed to. If you recache any mod file in the folder you are working in, it will do all the mod files in that folder.

How funny that I never noticed that.... seems that everyone's observations on me are correct- whether I play SFC or not, my head is always in outer space!

Again, is this what you meant about the x files, or am I barking up worng tree?
