An old question

I've been away from the game and these boards for a while now and finally have the time to reinstall SFC2 on my back up computer.I was wondering if anyone can send me the "decoded"shipnames and string files for SFC2 EAW.I would like to change ship names and soforth and nolonger have my old files.thanks for any help.

well for that i was told to use exel to change the name of the ship, work fine but there a few ship that i have made and i will make names for them.

howdy, long time no see WhiteKnight.
get yourself a hex editor such as Ultra Edit , and change the first 2 hexes in each file to FF FE. Save them, and then you can open them in notepad. You may notice that the first letter of the first word in the decoded message is missing. IIRC, you should change it to W, as I think the first word is weapon. Once you open the file in notepad you'll see what I mean. Oh and make sure the properties of the files are not set to 'read only'

hey Dead Meat how have you been?Thanks for the help.I'll have to try it this way.How has your Modeling been going/I still have your pre TOS ships on my system somewhere(the only ships I never deleted).Thanks for the repy and help.

Hi, my modelling has been sparse of late, due to my daughter now taking up all my time, and with another one on the way, it's not looking like i'll have any "free" time at all   Anyway i'm doing what i can when i can
