THis forum is destroyed. LB may have over reacted, but you don't need to be so cld to him, but thats beyond the point(As well as the fact that I find him a personal friend). Listen to me when I say this, we need to stop and think about what we are doing. We need to stop and think about what we are saying. Taldren's forum has gone to hell. It may be neccisary to completely shut it down and take the IP's or known trolls and ban them from SFC3.net's forum. It may be the only way to stop the madness. Listen to me. If you are going to flame me, don't post here. In fact, don't post here unless you have a GOOD valid reason not to do what I just suggested. Just think about my Idea and what we have done here.

At very very least, Taldren, cancel the Contest. It's tearing us apart.

What, and destroy this great public relations thing that Taldren has going on here? It was handled quite well, in my opinion.

By the way, I personally recommend SFC 3 to everybody, you should all go out and buy it and support them.

I didn't realize that people were being cold to him.  From what I've read most are supportive of him and the recent argument, now that it's over and those involved have shaken each other's hands.  As for the Situation in here and with taldren, I have faith that they will handle it as best as they can, and would prefer to leave them to it, rather than dictate.  And the contest, if they want to have one, then by all means, let them.  I don't see aproblem with friendly compettion as long as everyone understands that's al it is.

Well, Perhaps my original plan was too drastic. But It could very well be the only way. No where in there did I say "Permanent", We need to crack down and get some maturity here. Perhaps a temporary complete shut down and some troll banning(Via IP) would give a message. Listen to me when I say this. We are in a barren wasteland of stupidity. The few people who are still mature and sticking out, I commend you.



As for the contest. I shutdown or restart is neccisary. There has been too mush conflict over it. It doesn't mean the judges have to change their minds. Go ahead and vote the same way, but it's just a PR thing.  


And besides I wanna help my friend, you all can understand that. I kinda wanted to manipulate a guilt trip and I apologize for that. I'm loosing my confidence again(Manic Depressive mood swings you know) so I'll keep this short, I apologize for vying for that guilt trip and strongly push my shutdown opinion. It can be revived later when things are calm again. I don't think they are yet.

Banning IPs wouldn't really work, as most people still have dial-up, and with dial up you have a thing called Dynamic IP, meaning that everytime you log on to the net, your IP addy is different. The only solution I see is not really a solution...just ignore the trolls and flamers.

While I believe that LB had valid points, there is one aspect that he and others might not have realized. I, for onr, didn't bother entering because I figured that going against LB, P81, Skinman etc. would be pointless, as they are the best around these forums and I figured they would win hands down. The judges might not have been told who the entries belonged to, but most of can tell the work that these guys do by just looking at it; maybe they didn't pick them to win, so that the newer modelers might gain some confidence. Either way, I feel it was a bad idea to begin with. A contest officially sponsored by Taldren is going to leave some bad blood. A contest run by a "mere" member of the forums, as we have had before, makes more sense...no ego wars as the entrants know that the judging is going to be subjective.

Keep the community, get rid of official contests. IMHO

Really I too think the incident ended quite well.
The real scary thing is when people start giving up. As long as we try, the forum can always stick together.
 

EDIT: This reminds me of the Jessica Alba Show. Ahem I meant Dark Angel. Didn't the illegal boradcast started with something like "voice of reason left?"

My only wish is my neghvar excel or titan has been done in time to be entered:) Then I could have given any model in that contest an honest hardass run for their money!!

Found out about this contest to late and I had to enter some of the first models I have ever done, I"ve only been at this for like 4 months LOL.


As for all the flaming, it happens everywhere, just let it die done, sometimes people need to explode and express themselves, thats fine, just make sure you clean up the mess without creating bad blood.

I have an idea. How about the decent folk here - I.e. The non-troll types get together and start up a private, restricted access forum and invite in anybody that used the Tadren forums properly.

Taldren arent really in the position to start a widescale IP banning ot anything like that. But we are! Its just an idea - a pretty silly one at that. But the major concerns people have is that the forums have lost their identity and that immaturity is causeing wide-scale strife.

What do you think of my idea? Yeah I know, it's crap.

Probably getting rid of all the duplicate accounts would help. That was a problem last time, people were switching ID's to hide who they were...or atleast that was one of the theory's.
