Hoping it would be possible to implement a firing range restriction for the ai. ie restrict the ai to firing ph3/Gs at a maximum range of 2 ( to prevent the ai wasting its point defence phasers v ships at range 14, so that it can defend itself better v drones), and also extending this range restriction to other direct-fire weapons (fusions getting fire at ridiculous ranges too), to make their fire more effective. I believe implementing this would improve the ai immensely, and seems a fairly simple thing to code in.
