Alliance of the willing

(Picture large back drop of the Federation, Gorn, Mirak, and Hydran flags, seated are the war leaders of the respective empires, this is the situation room of the Federation)

Hooch rises to address the assembled admirals, and captains.

?Admirals, Captains, Honored Guests,

We, the Alliance of the willing, are gathered today on the edge of a chapter in history. A chapter that will be remembered after we are long parted from this realm of existence and only the memory of those who were there is a fleeting thought. Once more into the breach of war we have been called to do our duty and protect all that we hold dear and to bar the night against those who?s only thought is to destroy, and steal what is not theirs to have.?

<the silence of the room grows deeper and all eyes watch as the battle map flickers to life, fleets deployments, tactical plans and arrows in Blue, Dark Green, Purple, and light Green begin to dot around the map>

?Before you now is a formidable task, there is only victory over these barbarians or the yoke of their enduring slavery for you and those whom love and cherish. I am reminded of a battle in Earth history when a British outpost known as Rouke?s Drift in South Africa. There were about 130 soldiers posted there building a bridge when word came that 4000 Zulu warriors were coming to attack them. A young soldier asked his Color Sergeant this question ?why?, his answer was simple, ?there is nobody else, just us, now man your post!? But sweat, tears and sacrifice carried the day for the few and by teamwork and a sense of destiny they prevailed.

?Comrades and fellow warriors,

<Hooch?s voice rising, his Scottish accent leaking out>

Now is the time to rise up and do your duty, Now is the time to rise from your slumber, Now is the time to look into the face of evil and spit into it?s eye and say I stand the watch this night and you shall not pass, Now is the time to beat our plow shears back into swords! This is the hour of our greatest need! The destiny of countless millions who will never know or long remember us swing in the balance of our actions here today. Will you stand with me, will you stand with your allies, are you prepared to spend the lives your crew and yourself to defeat those who wish to bring slavery to the rest of the galaxy. If so report to your ship and prepare to receive your fleet assignments.

The Kat, Koth, Hydran, and Gorn are your steadfast allies and will fight along side you, let your will as iron, your resolve as hard as granite, raise high the black flag of war for today we will take no prisoners, I will shoot the first man I see with mercy in his eyes.

No quarter will be asked and none will be given?we settle this issue once and for all with the Klingons and their lapdog allies and toadies. We will remove this blight from the galaxy and end their constant threat to the peace we hold dear. If we must wage war now to have enduring peace, then so be it!

You have the floor Admiral Fluf? (Hooch walks and takes his seat)

Captain Hondo along with Captains DieHard, C-los, and Father Ted are seated in the back of the room as Admiral Hooch drones on.

"I'll see your three shots and raise two more" Captain Diehard looks at his cards then eyes Father Ted wondering if the Padre has somthing up sleeves beside his bible and Tracey's room number. " I think you better go to confession Ted couse bluffling and lying are one and the same, so Ill see your five and throw in these Holo pics with rooms keys of some Orion Slave Girls Im suppose to meet tonight." Dies hard chugs down the drinks with a grin, taking an extra shot incase he needed a headstart for losing those holo pics. Hondo having folded out of the game was looking into a mirror to seee if his eyes looked mercyfull, taking a swig from the romulan ale he decides he can buy sunglasses and resumes folding a paper airplane and launches it at Thrain who managed to brown nose his way to a front seat next to Kroma.

Mean while back in the Klingon High Command. Warsears and JD watch a live feed of the Federation Alliance rally, the view screen focuses onto the back row. "JD look at those soft Federation officers playing cards and drinking during a war speech. Bah we will roll right over them." Warsears leans back grinning then looks at JD who seams intent on the game." JD what the hell you doing?" JD looks up "I think we should capture Father Ted and get those keys he just won in there game, I mean wars come and go, but Orion Slave Girls that fine........"

Hmmm. I get mentioned one time in the same breath with Kroma and I am branded a brown noser? Brown nosers are a community species....they run in herds. I fly alone thank you. Unless, of course, some one requests my help with keeping Chutt "grounded" in the basics, or assisting J'inn with the finer points of Photon dodge ball.

Kim, I sincerely doubt that the Orion girls will need rolling pins to look after their needs. I'm darn sure that there will be plenty of volunteers from all races to look after them

And so, as usual, the rhetoric starts. And, as usual, it's started by the "most peaceful" race , the Federation. Where is the Coalition's warlike prose that this is supposedly in response to? Nowhere to be seen, as usual.

I submit that the Federation is controlled by the green monsters known as Greed and Envy. They are envious of the Coalition superiority, and greedy for the riches that can be found in Coalition space. The rhetoric submitted by Hooochypoos is merely a front to try and lay the blame on hostilities at the door of the Coalition, and not where it really belongs, the warlike Federation.

The mere fact that they have to keep publicly calling themselves "the good guys" is proof enough of overcompensating for some sort of shortcoming.
