Model contest winner?
« on: January 24, 2003, 11:43:23 pm »
December 5th 2002 12:01am: Cutoff for 1st period contest entries.
December 11th 2002: First winner chosen.
December 20th 2002 12:01am: Cutoff for 2nd period contest entries.
December 27th 2002: Second winner chosen.
January 3rd 2003 12:01am: Cutoff for 3rd period contest entries.
January 10th 2003: Third winner chosen.
January 16th 2003 12:01am: Cutoff for 4th period contest entries.
January 24th 2003: Fourth winner chosen.

I am wondering if a winner has been chosen yet...  I have two entries in of mine this time.

(though I would also like to personally see -LB- win one of the rounds, he's entered some sharp models since the start... saying this even with two models entered in this round myself.

Hey!  Where was the two models that I entered?  I had entered my TARDIS and also my Borg Cube.. and you *can't* say that both were not eligible.. that Borg Cube is definitely TNG era!  And I never saw any guidelines as to whether or not we could enter in non-Trek ships, despite asking.

*And* I entered it the day after the cutoff for the 3rd round!  It was in in plenty of time for round 4.  What happened to my entries?

And what the hell happened with -LB-'s ships?  I could see where p81 *might* not be eligible because he does this professionally.. but -LB- has some classic stuff out there (like the Scorpion and Hecate which was also entered in this round) and he should've gotten something in one of these rounds.  Not even a nod... I'm not very impressed.

Hey atheorhaven . Thats a shame they didn't enter em in. I remember reading that post where you asked about non-trek ships.  I liked your TARDIS.  Haven't seen your Borg cube yet.

Here's a shot of the SFC 3 version of the Cube from when I glowed it at my sister's (I *still* can't run the glowtools at home):

So I was a little annoyed when it didn't make it into the contest.. the textures are some of my best work, the glows aren't so overpowering that they shine through the hull, and this was made entirely by myself (and I'm not that hot at doing much more than basic shapes in 3dsMax to date.. boxes and cylinders so far..

And here was a shot of the SFC 3 version of the TARDIS

This one was intentionally glowed really brightly.. the idea here being that it's moving just through space, and when I saw it do that on the show, it always was glowing..

But at any rate, they missed the contest entirely for one reason or another, so whatever.. I'll just release them both for d/l now that the entries for the contest is over.
