Keep in mind, it's meant to be between the CA and the BCH...a CCH, if you will.  I think it beats the hell out of any of our D7s.

 

Phaser suite is awful.....  Normal dizzies.... the @$$ mounted photon is cute.... hmmm...

Now that I am trying to find it again... I am finding a different D8 'supercruiser' that looks much better...

doesn't look legit .... but 10 Ph1's is nothing to sneeze at....  course, that 1&1/4 move ratio is a killer...

Ok... here is the first one I saw...


6 Ph2's 4 Ph3's... 4 dizzies... 2 drones... 1 Photon RA.... Typically weak klink shields.  Good move ratio.... with 24 power

It just seems pretty average....  especially for a mid era CA or bigger...

Bear, I had thought about using the D10 model on that 1st D8 supercruiser you mentioned with the 1.25 move ratio. It was more in line with the Feds BCE, but outclassed her. So I dropped the idea, cuz we would be escalating the ship wars... I'd have to make that dreaded F-BCT to counter it. Then the Roms and Gorn get left behind.

Well, it certainly need not have been that way, but I suppose some people would have looked at it that way.  So, instead..the Feds just get the upgrades..

Yes, Dizzy, who's missing?

I can think of a way he may have done it...  use the Orions as Tholians and place individual players that expressa wish to play them sa Tholian since they wouldn't be generally available from the race select screen.  I don't see a downside to this as I hate popping Orions constantly.

now now dm... this is not a cheese server. We are shortly gonna go thru a test period. If, during that time, the RM's can come up with a design or 2 that we can all more or less agree on, I will consider adding it.

Nah...you do what you want.  My preference would be to see the upgrades to the BCE, Miranda and the one CA you're "fixing" go away.   That's all.  

As I said when we discussed this before, there are plenty of ships in each fleet that suck and don't get flown.  Why does one race get special treatment other than that's how you want it?  If it's just a matter of "that's what you want," I can live with that.  Lets just say so.

good. Im glad this isnt a democratic process. It leaves up to you to decide wether or not you want to fly the server.

I added drone racks to all klink carriers. They really should have them, but even after I did so, I quickly realized they still sucked. Oh well. Same will prolly be the case for the BCE, NCM and CAI...

You can put all the new ships you want but most will still fly the old stand bys.

on Reclamation flying the OP+ shiplist here is what I flew from day 1.

F5C
F5D (only new one in the group)
FWL
D6DB

Would have eventually moved to a C7 or C7V.

With the mass amount of AI in the missions it's hard to get away from the Droners.  In a standard ship(Klingon) it becomes downright drudgery to run 15 minute mission after 15 minute mission followed up by a 30 minute mission.  Repair bills out the wazzooo more than outweigh the cost of replacement missiles.

It's cool to get a choice between all of those extra ships but in actual play they seem quite useless.  

The only added ships I ever found a use for(other than the F5D) were the refitted ships from AOTK as the expanded dizzie arcs on a D7W made the ship worthwhile to fly, and it's low cost made it painless to lose.

You made edits to ships of other races?  I hadn't seen any news of that.  I just saw your posts regarding the aforementioned Fed ships.

Still, the addition of drone racks does improve them a bit.




As for it being my choice to play on the server, yes....that part is true and I might not.  Of course, I might just fly Tholian, too.  Who knows?
