Not an SFBer here but I want to clarify something in my mind.

Is there supposed to be a limit to the speed on Tugs and Monitors?

If so, can this be compensated for by switching warp power to APR? Or limiting the speed like they do with freighters in the Convoy Missions?

There are 3 tugs equipped with battlepods which retain their full speed:

L-BT
K-BT
Z-TBT/Z-CBT

.. these don't slow down due to their pods (which incredibly aren't considered heavy enough)

Now I didn't make these up. I copied them as-is from SFB. They're evil, hm?

FYI for anyone interested, try this on a GFL server and you will most likely get banned.

After reviewing the posted info (granted it my be slightly skewed) I have to say that neither would be banned from a SFCx server. Not to say that we condone the swearing or character assasinations but one (?) swear from each is not sufficent. A warning yes, banning no, not umless it continues past the point of reason. Everone gets hot on occation. As an admin one must ballance the dynamics of the various people that play / use one's services.

Dog, I've met and talked with MadElf (even had to run from him in battle, I thought that funny, he less so but that's a different story) and I have to agree. Diplomatic skills need a bit of work, but then if he's that good why push it.

FS, take a break man. You ned it. Being online 24/7, fielding all of the quesions / commentary, and working feverishly on the OP+ shiplist, might be taking it's toll. Take some time off, we'll live. SFC:OP  is much improved by the work you've done to date but your working too hard and may be starting to take things personal. This is comming from a friend. Take a breather.

THis is 100% accurate.

Battle Tugs were meant to be heavy weapon platforms along the lines of a Dreadnaught not a Cruiser so they should be and are quite powerful.  There are plenty of tradeoff's though.  Just try to do an HET in one.  the only one that can really go 31 is the Lyran(the Klingon and Kzinti only have 28 warp).  The Fed Gorn and Hydran should have move cost of at least 1.5  some feds have move cost of 2.

Not the point valuse may be a problem but running full speed while charging everything shouldn't be possible, they aren't X-Ships.  Did you try this ship in a skirmish to see if you could do what the AI was doing??

*takes out R3*...

L-BT..
30 Warps (used to go full speed)
3 Impulse boxes (1 used for speed 31)  (2 free power)
12 APR boxes..

No.. not quite enough.. but can go quite fast.

It's HET rating? .. 66% for the first one, 33% for consecutive ones.

Heh..I was surprised (I dunno why) see this thread "blossom" as it has...even to the point of someone posting personal information about one of the protagonists.  *sigh*

I'm not going to defend MadElf because he can do that himself, if he wishes.  Truth is, I wouldn't have reacted the way he did, but I though it also a little odd to see him be deemed as someone to be ignored just because he asked a few questions.  Things went downhill from there.

Enjoying the Reclamation server, don't care about the damn tugs...put it in front of me and I kill it.  I like the OP+ shiplist.  I wish the server kit was more easily manipulated to take full advantage of the list by seeing a better variety of ships produced.  You can always find a D7D, D7N or D7E in the shipyard (or a D5C being built in 2280), but it can be tough to get your hands on useful ships...heheh.

Good stuff.  I hope everyone can just find a way to chill and enjoy the game.  No like?  No look.

Dogmatix, I'm glad this all came to light......Intel can be sooo hard to come by what with the Tal Shiar folks trying to corner the market. Finding out that Mad Elf is about the best you have is encouraging, heh heh heh.

And evidently he weighs less than a duck (i.e. he's made of wood), 'cos Karnak want's to burn him. Probably just a puppet of the Klingon state used to make up the numbers.

Yes. I was getting a little worried.  All seems right in the world again.    Well except for the fact that we haven't had a good Feds v. Klinks flame war.    Tsk.   Slackers.

I paid good money for this game and I demand my entertainment value!!!   Get to flaming!!!

Well here's the words to go with the music. Enjoy. For next weeks winners of "Name That Tune" we have a copy of Paul Revere and the Raiders' Greatest Hits Live!

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip,
That started in this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour.
A three hour tour.

The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost.
The Minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire and his wife,
the movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.

          ------------

Now this is the tale of the castways, they're here for a long, long time,
they'll have to make the best of things, it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and the Skipper too, will do their very best,
to make the others comfortable, in the tropic island nest.
No phone, no lights no motor cars, not a single luxury,
like Robinson Crusoe, as primative as can be.
So join us here each week my freinds, you're sure to get a smile,
from seven stranded castways, here on "Gilligan's Isle."
