I don't think so. I believe MOO Fighters is related to FOO Fighters

And is MOO3 any good? I played the first two, and still occasionally drag out MOO2....

well if you can believe it the interface has even more screens than before ,
and combat is in real time but not much on the graphics,
only have about 8 hours into it bso haven't been able to say much about long game evolution,
but it seems promising,
best bet is to go to a game recycle store,
got my game for 25 bucks less that new,
alotta people think its a space battle game,
the best part is that you can host games direct and not fool around with some network that may not exist at a later date,
all of the old stuff is still pretty much there though some of the ship interfaces to get them out into space are a little confusing,
but with a couple hours of expermenting I think one can get the hang of it enough to actually be able to play and win,
it is different than moo2 but i think after i get used to it it will be alotta fun
remind me in a week or so and I will be able to give you a better impression

I have heard mixed reviews about MOO3, mostly negative.  Although I imagine that a number of the reviewers were first person shooter types, not knowing what they were getting.

Reluctantly,  I've passed on MOO3.  Instead , I bought Galactic Civilzations.  No MP, however pretty deep.  The  tech tree is a bear to figure out.  Could have had a bit more documentation.

One thing that is a plus, however,  is that the developers are listening to the players, and roll out a new patch/addition version practically every week.

thought about gal civ, prolly my next purchase,and moo3 is definitly not a shooter game,I would consider it an empire builder game which for some holds no excitement,I on the other hand love to improve things so games like civ,moo,railroad tycoon,panzer battles,sim city and their ilk are by far my favs,that is one of the reasons i hate gz and love dyna's cause i get to see progress,granted some times the progress goes in the wrong direction ah but that is the way of things at times,if you played and liked moo2 i bet you would like moo3,the problem nowadays is so many people want instant gratification,so they have no time(in their minds) to play an econ/empire expansoin game , not instant enough , one thing i have learned from intimate relations w women is that time spent building is well spent! ! ! !

I can agree on all points.

I really liked both MOO and MOO2.  Tend to favor Strategy and Flight Sims over FPS.  

One recent addition to Glac CIv allows you to add and listen  to your own mp3 files.  I loaded the mp3s from Starfleet Command 1, and listen to those, instead  of the default music.
