LOL photons ,
Im not sure if my pc memory will hold if i try to model that in    its starting to lag out with the tracks. I am haveing to build the detail on the tiger in another scene so my pc can handle the riseing poly count. The tracks alone are 27000 some odd polys.  I may try and add the anti mine coating by textures but id rather have it  detailed so im not sure yet.

Not to   your work or anything, but this isn't a Tiger MkII, but a Tiger MkI. I'm actually something of a Tiger fan myself, and I can say that your model looks really good! I like the cooling fan grille you made for the rear deck. Keep going and show us updates, ok!

Whats the difference?  the Tamyia box says tiger mrkII and it has the anti mine coat.  I thought the tiger mrk I had the turrent more forward and tracks narower?
1 thing i know its not a King tiger thats 1 hella big tank.

Tiger Mk 2 is called the "King Tiger"

There is a lot of differences between the versions.

You are doing very well!

I  LOVE the Tiger!!!! That 88 mm gun is arguably still the best antitank gun in the world! That anti-mine paste is spelled ZIMMERITT.....Gods, I cannot WAIT until she is available for download....are you going to be using Wehrmacht or Waffen SS insignia or will you provide alternate textures?
I am adding this link  to a Tiger I page that is quite extensive and there is  Actung Panzer which has some excellent referances for German tanks and  the Das Reich web site that has an extensive section on the numbering and ingnia of vehicles in that unit!

CAN'T wait for it!!!!

Thank you.
I know the king tiger looks more like a overgrown panther but i didnt know it was also called tiger mrkII, my bad. I thought the mrk II was the zimmeret armor and hull changes. Oh well its all good . Heres an update.

The hull is 21065 polys with the grill changes The total model/scene will be WAY more than 40000 poly now lol.
I guess i will release it but i may not be able to texture it accurate .

Totally sweet model Kreeargh!

As for the 88, it was not quite the killer that it's reputation suggests. The 88mm L-56 gun on the Tiger I was fantastic in it's day, but soon after it was left behind by the 75mm L-71 that the Panther mounted, and then eclipsed again by the 88mm L-71 on the King Tiger (aka: Tiger II). Of course these days it's like a spitwad shooter compared to the M-256 120mm smoothbore cannon mounted on the M1A1.

Having been a tank crewman in the US Army, and a German WW2 re-enactor out east, I know a great deal about German tanks and assault guns from the WW2 era, and about all German WW2 weapons in general. I have a personal collection of many german small arms which we use in living history events. Check out my unit at www.grossdeutschland.com

As I was saying, this is a really sweet model. I'm not sure what I'd use it for, but I really want it!

If you release a low poly version (ha!  if at all possible!), and put it on a carrier and use one of those terrific terrains, you could have some nasty, armored dropship... that is, if it doesn't explode on contact with the surface the way a starship does with an asteroid!

Hey, that would actually be kinda cool..I vaquely recall a Starblazer episode where their Marines actually did have droppable tanks and I also recall reading that same sort of thing not only in MechWarriour but also in the Aliens Colonial Marine Manual.

It would look very cool but methinks the Tiger would be much better suited to the Klinks or Gorn because, well, it looks more like a rough and ready kind of tank...or mebbe I imagine feddie tanks like this:

Or this:

I found those images here  at the Treknology site

hehehe..mebbe we can make either the Abrams or Challenger tanks for the Feddies!

I need to do more detail work like cables and clamps ect and the Zimmeret but i still havent found a pattern yet.
I am also going to make a 88mm gun Flak37/38 for this scene . The entire scene may be 100000 polys when done lol.
