GMAX, are we there yet?

Have the Gmax folks provided a route from thier program to SFC Compatible models yet? I just e mailed them my request again.

During a previous post there was a response by a fan that said it cost $80,000 to get Discreet to make a GMAX plug-in for a game. If this is even remotely accurate I'm afraid we're SOL

 Gah! Who paid for all the other plug ins they made? The game's publishers? Developers? Who? 80K? For how much code?

The 80k is, essentially, for the *right* to release a compatible Gmax plugin.

Discreet has no end-user revenue model for Gmax, so they charge the developers for the ability to release a compatible plugin.
Then, the developers can use the Gmax plugin as a selling feature, and hopefully sell more copies to modders...

That's the revenue model theory anyway...
