Topic: Conquering in OP and SFC3 Help!! (Read 2232 times)

Is it just me or is it impossible to finish the single player general campaigns in Orion Pirates and SFC3 conquest modes? For ever hex I take for the glorious Romulan Empire, 3 hexes on the other side of my empire are taken by my enemies. It seems like I'm the only one in the whole empire doing anything. In OP, I win 30 battles but have one measly hex to show for it. Also, as soon as I take a starbase or planet it becomes neutral again and I have to do it all over again. Buying starbases helps in SFC3 but it takes me 10-15 missions in order to earn enough prestige for one. Is it even possible to conquer the galaxy. Please someone give me pointers. What the hell am I doing wrong?!

I haven't done it in awhile, but my usual tactic is to head straight for their HW and then all outlying planets and bases. Once they have no effective economy to produce ships, it's easier to take territory and keep it. At least that's my experience.

How do you know which one is their homeworld?

Apparently, if you look REALLY and I mean REALLY closely, the homeworld is slightly brighter a color than their other planets.

Or just right click the hexes with planets in them to see their economic values. Homeworlds are on the order of 75-100, I believe.
