So after a loooooooong time of not being able to play SFC3, I get a chance to yesterday. started up the game from the start menu, everything's loading fine, then it gives me the insert cd thing... no big deal, I forgot I had a regular cd in there... so I replace it, hit ok, dvd-rom does some scanning of it... nothing happens... I hit cancel, check windows explorer, the cd is recognized as SFC3... I try running it from the disc... same thing happens...
I figure maybe it'll run from my cd-rw... no go either...
I restart the comp thinking maybe it's a glitch that'll resolve itself... I restart, run it again... nothing
I check windows explorer again and notice that my cd-rw is showing up as "Compact Disc F:" which is odd since its usually something like CD-RW.
I kick out the SFC3 disc and my dvd-rom drive is showing up as "Compact Disc E:" so maybe that's the problem
The question is, what could I have possibly done that would make my drives appear that way?... the only changes i've made recently are the installation of a FutureDial cell phone sync program with new USB drivers and installing two windows updates [one for windows security and one for internet explorer's security]...
Man, i want to play.....
