being stationed here in korea is pretty good, especially when i want to travel the uso offers great travel packages to almost every asian country except north korea. i've seen alot of weird and interesting stuff in thailand,vietnam, china, and even here in the republic of korea, but what i got to see in japan really takes the foo-gu.
i and the wife went to japan on a uso tour package, the computer store over here are to say the least amazing and the games they offer are so awesome even if they have bad titles, i.e. the original name for street fighter was "the bully call-woman", and for tekken it was "amazing fight loveboy" go figure? but star trek that is where it gets downright bizarre.
you see in japan star trek is not popular except with the really deviate manga sects. its because kirk is gay, spock is a female, and sulu is really the captain. but when i went to a super pc game mall to find the SFC series, my wife acted as haggler/translator, the clerk went into a back room and brought back dvd's with asian, australian and russian women models costumed as star trek aliens. with such titles as vulcan vixxxen, kinky klingons, and i aint even going to go into the andorians and tellerites.
but i did come to the conclusion that the only time when they wanted to be actually correct in translating english into kanji or vice versa it had to do with porn.
