Overhead View Missing
« on: January 25, 2003, 04:06:03 pm »
Hi,  I had to start my campaign over again and upped the AI to commander.  I noticed a few things that are different.  The worst thing for me is that F1 will no longer give me an overhead view.  All the other F keys work.  Whats up with that?  Is this a known bug?  Another is that the video is now a little jerky and the sound sometimes repeats words. Once I got stuck on three words over and over.  I could not Ctrl-Alt-Del,  Alt-Esc,  nothing!  I had to hard boot.  Just to make sure it wasn't my computer I started another campaign at the lowest level and everything was fine.  Any explanations?  Especially about the Overhead view,  I have a heck of a time in 3D!

It's a bug, and I don't think it has anything to do with the difficulty level.  I fix it by opening the options page and selecting the "F1 overhead view" button.  That usually works for a while.  Exiting the game and re-starting has also fixed it for me.

Thanks,  I'll do that.  Between this message and my last I had logged off and was working on the campaign.  I had just got to the first Unity Base mission and Picard was explaining away and then he got stuck on "provide a base" over and over and over.  Once again the only solution appears to be a hard boot.  What should I do?  Shelve this game awhile until its ready for prime time or is there a fix for this.  Its going to take about a century to do the campaign at this rate.

Alright,  I give up for now.  I have to work the next four days anyway.  I'll check back in a few days.
