ATTN Fluf - Litterbox Problems
« on: April 21, 2003, 08:30:14 am »
  1)  The immortal Gorn BF is back.  Don't know what to do.  Get blown up, get same ship back.  Won't play on server till I get an answer from you.  The only problem is, it's the only Gorn ship worth flying thats in the yard.

  2)  Wierd planetary assaults. 1)  One planet didnt fire on me at all, but put ALL its energy into shield regeneration.  That one took me an hour and a half from range 2!(solo) 2)  PLanet marines doubled in number halfway through mission.(coop). 3) put 22 marines on EMPty planet with no capture (solo)

3)Double fire/double damage bug during coop missions in allied space.

Other than these, its a great server.  Thanks for your time and effort.

P.S.  Where are ya Kroma?

hmm, will have to check the BF.  It wasnt showing up in the yard before because the stock shiplist has it listed as restricted.  TraceyG changed it last night so it would appear along with the Lyran L-EGO.  I would say that its probably the BPV modifier and there wont be much we can do until you guys get some more ships in your yard as time passes.  For now, just consider it my gift to the Gorn lol!

Immortal ships have always been a problem in the D2 because of the lack of availability of some ships at certain BPV ranges in early era.  We will be moving into mid era soon, and the problem seems to work itself out then, as more ships become available.  I figure the Mirak DN is probably in the same boat right now, although no one can afford one yet.

As far as the missions go, all mission problems are being recorded for the scripters and we will be sending them info on all the problems.  Keep the feedback coming.

The double/damage double/shot bug seems to be a new feature that was added in the last patch.  I really dont think it has much to do with the scripting, but we need to note the missions that it occurs in and see if there is a pattern.  Most of the time, this bug occurs in co-op, which could mean 2 things:loss of packets when connecting with the other player, or possible mission scripting problem, where the AI gets control of your ship.

Don't worry about it gornrule.  DH123 noted a possible time-warp problem as a potential cause to the numerous Fluf-initiated "issues" with this server.  Upon closer examination, and the work of a dedicated Kzin spy, the true cause of the perpetual BF has been determined.

Here is an unretouched photo showing the leader behind this horrible effort to screw-up the space-time continuum. It turned out his (her?) motivation was a never-dieing Gorn BF. The culprit is barely visible leading his (her?) pack of followers.

A close-up of the leader was later captured and transmitted via sub-space. Unfortunately the Kzin conducting this intelligence gathering mission was captured soon after (the idiot forgot the sequence and didn't step to the right). We heard later that he was personally tortured in unspeakable ways by the leader of this time warp faction ... none other then ...

Kroma!!!!

Now, some of you may wonder, could that possible be Kroma?!?  After all, the individual pictured above does not have the ... uh ... 'girth' normally associated with our beloved Prima Ballerina.  However, DNA has shown otherwise and confirmed it is indeed the scourage of the reptilian world him/herself.

Our agent managed to explain this rather strange difference in the appearance of the foul "luggage-in-waiting," and attributed the phenomenon to the individual's incessant desire to consume mass quantities of defeated enemies following a battle (with a preference for Klingon for some reason).  The above picture provides an example of what happens when 'it' is forced to endure a famine of victims.  Thus the need for a perpetual BF.

ROFLMFAO OAO

Green, that was too much. Please give us a warning in the future. I almost gave up the gig in my office.

Kroma, you scourge of the American Tourister industry, we have your true image on record now. We can use it for bedtime scarry stories with the kittens.

EDIT: Added Ameriocan to Tourister.

Other Fluf-induced anomalies

I was doing a coop patrol in ennemy space. I got the one with the freighter. I killed the ship, my partner (who shall remain nameless) killed the freighter. Result DV change: 0!

We decided to do it solo. He took a mission (don't know which one) and won it. I took one as well (the one with freighter). Killed the ship, captured freighter. When I came out, the DV was up by 2!

It's your fault Fluf!
