A blast from our campaign past...

CW6: Storm Season - Who could forget the Battle for PinkyGen; Operation Kang; the defense of Coridan; and the struggle along the ISC-Gorn-Klingon border. Let's look back and remember how much fun we all had.

Ah what a campaign!  The Battle for PinkyGen will always be remembered every time I open this game.  Battlestation Kang will always be remembered, as I put Matsukasi on our base there and just told him to hold it lol.  He was attacked for hours by Federation players, but took the bloody nose and held the base.  The defense of Coridan had to be one of the Federations finest moments, other than breaking the MIne Shaft operation by the Hydrans at the beginning of the campaign.

The ISC Gorn border was just a furball everyday.  The reports coming from the front we always filled with the bloody losses in battle, or gallant victories overcoming impossible odds.

I will always consider this to be one of the finest campaigns I have ever played on.

Thanks Wanderer, I remember that campaign well. Like Fluf, I think it was the best ever.

I remember the camaraderie on RW, with different races working together to help each other. The battles you guys listed are remembered for their lasting carnage. Unlike some battles that were over in short order, those lasted days.

Best campaign ever....

The ill-fated but impressive "Mine Shaft"...

The battle over "Patriarch One" and the carnage that ensued there...

The non-stop battles over Letak, "The Alamo," Starbase Jessica" and "Starbase Chris Lee."

That was a knockdown-drag-out, massively populated, long-term campaign.  I don't think it's ever been matched and mostly likely never eclipsed.

Good times, good times...

Awesome PvP alongside incredible strategic maneuvers by both sides. I had a ball, and only wish we could play it all over again.

Sad but true.   100% undenialbly true.

Which makes one wonder.   The recent flames.  Are they really justified?  Seems to be a lot of people getting worked up over something that is in the past but talked about as if it is still alive.   There are not enough players left for a major campaign IMHO.  Just a fact.   Can't say I'm happy about it, but it is true.   Heck, even the villinous SFC2.Net Team is basically gone.   BBJ and SnB were the heart of it.  BBJ is gone it seems.  SnB is around and working on a project I know.   But lets face it, the glory days are gone.

Lots of dead horse beating going on it seems.

Sure, there is still plenty of fun to have, but at times it seems things are out of prospective.

Hopefully the future campaigns will be designed to run with a player base of about 20 - 30.   Those would work and be a lot of fun.  I wish those that are working on those projects luck.  I had fun with what little work I did.  But never again.  Not to any degree.   Being uninvoled and unaligned is just too much fun.  I have received a few PMs lately about "issues"   I stopped reading them.   I no longer have the interest or the desire.  I've found that just playing is more rewarding for me.   Frankly if the game box said:

------------

"GREATEST GAME EVER!!!!   Log on and get involved in politics, politics, whining, moaning, egos and politics.  Flame wars!!  Heck yes we got them!!  LOG ON TODAY TODAY TODAY!!!

Oh, and BTW, there is a neato SFB quasi-based (OHHH FLAMES THERE ALSO!!!) online wargame bundled into this great software!!

BUY IT NOW AND HAVE MORE FUN THAN A SOCIALIST AT A TORY CONVENTION!!!   You get to argue argue argue!!!

Only $50.00 plus tax.   That's $63565378002.02 in Canadian Dollars.

Tell'em Eric sent ya!"

---------------

I doubt I would have made the purchase.   HEY CAN I SUE FOR FALSE ADVERTISIING!!!   WHERE'S J'INN WHEN YOU NEED HIM.

Whao, Cybil moment there.  I need my meds again.

I am having a lot of fun on Litterbox.   I hope everyone else is also.

CW6 rocked.  I thought nothing would top it . . .

Then I played in General War 4.   I thought SFC would never get any better . . .

Then came AOTK which despite the bugs and other issues had me hooked like a crackwhore.  Maybe SFC reached it's peak . . .

Anyone else seeing a pattern here?  This game is so far from dead as long as we want to keep playing.

SG3 will be a good old fashion grand scale campaign.

ISC Invasion:  The Ficking good guys versus the Fricking Bad guys.   Doesn't get any better than the.

RDSL:  Fun, fun, fun.   Monsters and tigers and bears, Oh, my!!

OP D2 now works (right?) so we may see the SFCX Operation unity server.

This game is so far from dead.

CW6 was my first campaign. Didn't know what the hell was going on until I ran into Lucky, about 3 weeks after I'd gotten on. Lost my first PvP badly against a Kzin whose name I forget. Next PvP was against Gook, who toasted me after I got a few nicks on him. Then, I got my first win against a Kittie who shall remain nameless. Fun times.

But to me, the best server was IDSL. I collapsed from exhaustion about 4 hours before the campaign ended, and missed the fireworks at the end. But that server was a blast.

I remember when I was bored one day, and was pressed to find something to do.  I decided to come online and just see if everything really does have a .com website attatched to it.  That was when I found these forums.  I remember reading everything and noting that I didn't have f-king clue what was going on, except that y'all were very into SFC, so I signed up.  That was in March of last year.  I remember Dizzy's kill list (that he had one, and it was long, not who was on it) and I couldn't wait to fly with you guys.  As long as SFC is around and as long as these forums stay up, I'll be here.

BTW: I nearly had a big kill last night on LB3 vs. DRB (I think... he was Hydran at any rate).  I still lost, but I bloodied his nose a bit.  Most fun I ever had!!
