What about topics such as "Blessed be the Cheese Makers" which apply to SFC3 and SFC2 EAW but not to SFC1 (Gold Edition) and the hypothetical GAW. Of course some could also extend the topic to a higher level and refer to all manufacturers of dairy products and PC software in general, necessitating a switch to the off topic forum which is even less organised. Perhaps the OT forum is the place to work on first.

Look, it's quite simple.

SFC OP threads are not to leave the SFC OP forum until I come and get them.
(Right, not to leave the forum even if you come and get them.)
No, no, UNTIL I come and get them.
(Until you come and get them, we are not to enter the forum.)

Anyhow, despite forums popping up at other websites, which are all well and good, the fact is that TALDREN is the home base of SFC, period.  And who knows how long any of the fan-based websites will be up, anyhow.

Besides, we have folders for GeneralStarfleetCommand forum to cover stuff for GAW or stuff that crosses all generations of SFC.
We have DynaverseIIExperiences forum to cover D2 server stuff.
We have Dynaverse3Experiences forum for the same for D3.
We have SFCModels for models for ALL the platforms, which frankly is kind of a pain, as it isn't always clear WHAT version of SFC a model belongs with, but I digress.
We have the SFCMissionScripting forum for SFC2 API Missions.
We have SFC Mods for D2 Server stuff.
We EVEN have an SFC3 BETA forum to cover the "Open Beta."
And for Pete's sake, we have an SFCFanFiction forum, too.

I'm just saying, it seems like so much common sense to have an SFC2 forum and a separate SFC3 forum.  It certainly makes more sense than having an SFC3Beta forum.  Or a Fan Fiction forum for that matter (duck!).  That way, people can post their mods/models under the appropriate GAME in the first place.

Whatever.  It's certainly not a life-or-death thing.  It's just I find the forum organization a little lacking considering it REALLY is covering 3 separate, yet confusingly enough, very similar, computer games.  Seems to me you'd want a way to neatly compartmentalize discussions and links to files appropriate to those separate games.

Personally all people have to do is specify in the Subject line what Game thier question, model or topic is about. I don't own
sfc3 but i find some of the topics and models nice to look at and fun to read.

And therein lies the problem. Good luck at getting people to use common sense I too find it a bit annoying to try and answer a question or to DL something and have it be for the wrong game. I do believe that it would fragment the community though if we had seperate forums. This happens to a small, but still disturbing to me, degree already and I could see seperate forums making it worse.
