no news is NOT good news part II
« on: April 18, 2003, 02:53:43 am »
Since the original post was about how nobody was releasing new ships at the time, I thought it would be nice to comment on how so many WIP's are being displayed now. It's a great feeling when lots of people are making SFC models. Keep it up guys!

The more models, the merrier!! I just got myself a copy of 3D Studio Max, so I'll be jumping on the band wagon myself soon... lol!! Once I figure out how to make a model, that is...

I noticed smiley hasn't posted it here but there's a new carrier on it's way too. Perhaos you should ask smiley how he doest it. He went from zero to kick ass in 2 threads. His models looke a bit low poly in spots(not really a bad thing I guess) but the designs rock.

I'm not even caring on how badly a monster I created in the last thread.

Well, pretty nice, the number of WIPs.  I'm also eyeing Pneumonic's F-CA.  Not caring about the issues I brought up to create a big flame war in only one thread, I can say it is beautiful.  In a flash it pars with Khaliban's F-CA and Will Decker's retextures of Khaliban's F-CA, though I still don't think it quite matches the beauty of both when textures are applied.  It doesen't look like the Big E in Star Trek: TMP (Will's retexturing) or the Ent-A in Star Trek 6 (Khaliban's model), though it still is in par with both, very beautifully rendered.  If you don't mind me posting his pics up:

You know, its really not cool to put those pics up over here Cris Johnson. We post our pics over at frost-works to get people to have a reason to come to our forums. you need to cut this crap out. i remember when you did the same thing with my pics, and i disapproved very much. I know for a fact the Rick doesnt want you doing this with his pics also. you should ask permission before doing this, and I sincerly doubt that you did this time with Rick.

knock it off already, we dont want you doing it. Plain and Simple.

Okay, I'm sure both of you, Wolfe and LB, don't want another flame war.  So I'll just say this:

I don't care what devious plan you have LB, to drive the people out of this forum and into the Frost Works forums.  It's quite boring there, and I'm sure some criticism will come back as a flame war, deletion, and banning there rather than criticism taken for granted.  An example of why I don't go there.  I don't like people having to do something they don't want, such as to register to see something.  I'm one of them, so this is my retaliation: Spoil the plan and let the people comment on it here rather than being forced to register at another place and do such then.  Sure the forums has P81, you, and a few other modelers there in everlasting peace, but then there's Don Dawson... (*sigh*)  Oh... I guess you neglected to go to another thread.  This is my fourth time linking pictures.  The second time I did it was when James Formo never liked having to register at Frost Works, and commented when Ripperman tried it in a thread about a month or two ago.  So I decided to post Ripperman's WIP pics there.
So I don't do it to annoy you LB, I do it so people won't have to register.  Why bother?  This is a good forum LB, give it a chance.  Wolfe, nice guess as it made me laugh a bit.  Though it was wrong.  If you don't like it, I'm sorry.  So at least for a while (if not indefinately), I will cease linking to Frost Works pics to here.  And perhaps it would be best not to reply to this message, because no one wants another flame war, right?  I'm sure you don't want another one either LB, so I'm hoping you won't light the match and start the latest flame war.  And I'm willing to let bygones be bygones if you are...

ChrisJohnson,

-LB- asked yaa not to do that,
This is NOT the first time this has happened,

So you can either respect -LB- s' request, or not,
I would be nice if you did,

If you read the whole message, I said I would cease posting (and I also noted at least for now if not indefinately, though I think I will go with indefinately.  I'm not really certain and I don't want a flame war so don't continue on this), Wolfe.

Let me say this...Having to register at a forum only takes, what? 30 seconds? I say let people make their own decisions if they want to register or not. thats all i have to say on that.
