The BCE, NCM, and CAI are "Star Trek" ships in a "SFB" universe.  They are bad designs like most ships that din't come from SFB and there are better ships in their class.  Give me a BCG/BCF, CLC, or CB any day over the "Trek" ships.

However, perhaps the objective here is simply to explore new possibilities and see if we can end up with a better game.

The Miranda and Excelsior ships are unique ideas that are poorly implemented. Perhaps if a tweak makes them playable, its not a bad thing. It might even revive some of the joy of the game.

We saw it,  It was the BCT and it was a monster.

ahh dreams of BCT+... it might not have been improved to the same extend as some of the BCs at the time, but I loved it anyway

That baby needs to come back. It's what the BCE was meant to be. As for the CAI, I've never tried it against plasma, but it's definitely a deathtrap against drone chuckers. One possible fix that might put more(any) players into it would be to move up it's YFA to 68 or 69. And the NCM, well a few players like it when fighting Roms, but they only use it on OP, with those cheesy FX-RX arcs.

These designations are, im assuming, more technical terms for a Warp Frisbee, or a Flying  Pie?

Boomerang Competition Experiment?

Custard Antimatter Injected?

Nuclear Chocolate Mousse?

Sounds great.  I can think of several ships in the fleets of other races that could use similar treatment.

Man, my favorite ship is gettin ripped on.  I love the BCE.  Compared to the other ships, it's not as flexible because it doesn't carry the 'all-purpose-all-powerfu' drones, nor does it carry life-saving AMD, but it does have a great power curve, it's shields are superior to most heavy cruisers, and it's got a rear firing photon (not that it's super awesome).

But you're right, it's firing arcs are some of the worst known to man.  No rear firing arcs is definitely a pain, but I guess that's why the photon tube is there... problem is that photons aren't that great either, at least not alone.

For some reason, I fly the thing all the time though.  When you have someone in front of you, then you've got a powerful ship, and you can fly around at higher speeds to charge weapons at the same time, how is that not good?

I've seen the "BCT", but I didn't think it was anything special.  I mean, it had weaker shields and put an AMD rack on it, right?  And some better phaser arcs.  I didn't think it was amazingly superior.  Just my thoughts.

How's about . . .    http://www.mninter.net/~phdship/klnd8.gif (only with a C7 hull instead of a D7, IE Weapon arcs, turnmode, and phaser layout)

Ahh...the old D8.  Doggy likes.  He'd happily fly that...often.

Actually I wouldn't fly it over a C7 - bad disruptor arcs and less ph1s imho. I'd try it out though, just to make sure hehehe.

Yeah..but then the D8 isn't a BCH, either.  It's basically a CCH, I guess.  I'm also assuming it comes out earlier than the C7.  This DH123 guy (whoever he is) did stipulate it could be added with the expanded disruptor arcs, too.

The Z-BCH has a turn radius change from E to D.

Aside from these 3x ships, the SG3 shiplist includes only minor tweaks and changes, adding and deleting several ships. it's general purpose isn't to try and make ships 'better', rather, it is to 'clean' up and streamline the minor problems the old lists have. So to answer your question... Yes, the Z-BCH was a ship that had an incorrect turning arc so it was 'tweaked'. The Z-CL doesn't require a change iirc... There is nothing wrong with it.

Good adjustment on the Z-BCH.  Basically both ships' layout is okay, but they are underpowered ... especially the CL.

In a 1v1 battle with a Z-DD vs a Z-CL (so its apples to apples), the DD is much better (and I mean very much).  Players, for the most part, will stick w/ the DD until they can buy an MCC (or do the drone chucker route w/ an MDC).  One truth is no one plays a Z-CL, which should be the 'bridge' ship between flying a FF-class and flying an "improved" light cruiser-class.

That is what I meant by the "C7 Hull."  The additional 2 dizzies should be FA (FH maybe?), the Phaser suite should be the same as the C7, 2 AMD12, and a C turn mode.

My idea would be for the D8 and all race's "Super Heavy Cruisers" should come out in 2283.  This is the same year the BCV's become available and it  would give players a non-dread that could fight a battle-carrier on equal footing.  These ships make sense in EAW as the game engine doe not support X-Ships, which is why the Super Heavies weren't build by any other race besides the Romulans.

Make it 2 ph1 instead of the 2 dissies and it 's a winner

Trust me, it's got the Power to use 6 Dizzies effectively.  12 Phaser 1s on a Klinck BCH is just plain wrong.

What about 6 B-Racks and 4 Dizzies as a varient or is that too "Mirak"?  The other SCA ships from the PHD site have great PD (or should at least in a SFC universe, if every race gets ans SCA I think the R-KHK and G-SCA deserve 2 Plasma D) so I think the 6 Dizzies whould be more useful in PvP.
