Editing Ship Specs for Campaign Play (SFC 1)

I am quite new at this, and I've had the game for a while already.  But, I am having trouble editing my ship Spec file with SHIPEDIT 2.0 and Getting it to work with the campaign play of Starfleet Command I.  My Main problem is working with engine output for more excess energy.  Other problems (transporter #, Boarding Party #, Tractor Beam #)

The only thing that seems to work is Shield Output, Weapons type and #, and Movement.  

Is there anything else that I have to edit to get these working?

thoeretically, no. (assuming you did the editing correctly)

have you tried to start a new campaign?
