Dynaverse behind a Firewall?
« on: January 24, 2003, 07:14:21 pm »
I have a problem logging on to the activision central server to play dynaverse3, and i was wondering if it was possible to run an independant server behind a firewall?  I live in a college apartment, with 2 roommates who would buy the game if we could do something other than a skirmish with each other. (now they're content to play the game on my computer when im in class)  Granted we wouldnt have the big experience that all you have in the dynaverse, but at least we would have something other than AIs for companions in campaigns.

Well that sounds like a reasonable request but you must understand that you are a proud owner of the most network friendly game available to the Star Trek fan. You may have a different configuration to the average poor sod behind a firewall but I doubt your chances unless somebody comes up with a LAN version of the game. But you should be able to get direct connect games running.
