Announcing a New SFC OP Campaign: Reclamation
« on: April 15, 2003, 10:50:53 am »
A new, light D2 campaign brought to you by SFCX.net.

For SFC Orion Pirates Dynaverse 2 players.

No start date yet -- but it could be up by this weekend at the latest.

For more information on this campaign, to include storyline, etc, check out the D2 Forums.

"Teaser" advertisement for the campaign:

http://home.swbell.net/znobles/Reclamation.html

Hope to see some of you OP players there!

Okay I am a new "member" of SFCX now BY-THE-NUMBERS answer this question:

How do I log into the Badlands or Reclamation campaigns?

Unlike the Tides of War I can't get past the description page.

I think you'll just need my OP+ shiplist (version 2.0 for now)
.. and the latest of NW's EvilDave missions.

If you're talking about the campaign info pages on the SFCX website, I think the Reclamation section is still being made as we speak. We'll make sure it's announced when ready.

For the campaign itself, Reclamation is not running yet. Once it's up, the latest Evil Dave OP Missions and FireSoul OP Plus Shiplist set (includes ftrlist, and strings files) are all you need to run smoothly.

I don't know about Reclamation yet, but for Badlands the following will do the job:

You need to download the current mission pack:
http://www.sfcx.org/downloads/mirrors/NuclearWessels/OPMissions.zip
Once you've downloaded this you'll need to extract all the .scr files (mission scripts) to your Assets/Scripts folder.
(There are more detailed notes in a readme file in there if you want them.)

You'll also need to download the shiplists/string files:
http://klingon.stasis.ca/OP_plusrefit/op_plusrefit_shiplist-20030413.zip
I'd advise going through Firesoul's installation readme (contained in the zip collection), then make sure you do all the backup steps he recommends.

That should take care of things

The campaign is not live yet. You log in via the normal OP D2. If you're talking about the webpage, there's only one informational/background page for Reclamation at the moment, with more to come.

Start date for Reclamation is TODAY -- 16 April.

The server should be up by early afternoon or early evening.

The victory conditions are posted on the website www.sfcx.org as well as instructions on posting achieved victory conditions.

Hope to see some of you there tonight.  It will be a blast!

OK, I'm still confused. If you're looking for more content on the website for the Reclamation campaign, don't look too hard. There is exactly ONE page of info, with the teaser story and the VCs. If you're seeing that, you've got it all right.

Now, to get on the server itself, you need to log into the OP D2. If you're getting stuck at the server list and getting a "found bad CRC" error when you try to connect to the server, then you've got the wrong files or haven't put them in the right places. FireSoul's shiplist has a readme to follow, but the OP missions you should just unzip into your scripts folder.
