Is it possible to train officers in more than one field of expertise?
I don?t think so ? but wouldn?t it be a good feature? Say your tactical officer was ?seriously wounded?, you could simply assign say your engineer with legendary targeting to keep those photons pumping out at 3 or 4 per shot ? bugger the warp.

Idea came to me before, and when I played single player free for all I noticed that you can choose officers with prestige over 3500 ? well skilled in everything.

It doesn't matter since I believe when an officer is stunned, knocked out, killed, etc. another officer will not jump in, but an unskilled ensign will jump in instead.  So even if all your officers knew everyone else's job inside and out, they would still ignore a fallen comrade and continue working their own station.

So while it doesn't really answer your question, it does make it moot.
