I like the idea, I'm just too tired to check what details have changed since one of the earlier versions, so I've refrained from judgment.

Are all the files from the old forum gone forever or just put somewhere else?

Too tired to check, and refraining from judgement? I do not understand that.... clarify for the peanut gallery please:)?

Active X, you know that subject gets mentioned in approximately 1 out of every three posts of mine.. I would vote, but as usual, your voting polls or anyone else's non-canon voting polls, are mysteriously unavailable to access on this forum.... typical.

The old forums were last seen yesterday at: http://208.57.228.4/ubb/... at 4:22 pm EST but were gone by 7:18 pm EST. I suspect that they were removed because they contained ads that were no longer current.

see:  LAN Dynaverse -- Is it possible?

Personally I wish they'd just removed the old ads and added a script alias for that directory to the config for this server.

It looks like they're gone for good. I sure hope not though, maybe a restoration is in the works but I doubt it, as Taldren sounds pretty busy these days.

Yup, there was a huge amount of information on the old forums that now seems to be lost.
<kicks self for not using the subscription feature in the past...> In fact, I think I'll subscribe to this forum now...

LOL Active X.... I haven't found a service yet to airmail a cat... but I found some names of privat companies- they'll charge too much..sigh.. oh well... we, as in you, I ,and anyon else, must try to obtain this information somehow- that was a very interesting idea, and a successful thread- successful as in very long and full o everything good threads have.

Bonk, how does one subscribe to this service? I am lost...

To subscribe to these forums, click the "My Home" link at the top of the page,
near the bottom of the page you will see:
"Subscribe / Unsubscribe from receiving forum posts by email, change message notifications, etc."
click the "edit" link to the right of that text...
On the following page there is a table at the bottom,
Click on the radio button under the "S" for the forums you wish to subscribe to and press "Submit"!

It will then mail you daily archives of all the forums you selected.
The old forums had more options I think like weekly or monthly, but this one only offers daily mailings.
A bit of a pain, will require some inbox maintenance, but it's one way to make sure we don't lose the info on these forums if they are changed again.

I know...just wish there was some way to recover the info...Taldren did say it would be around for archive purposes...
