That's not even the full version.   It's an upgrade for Runtime drivers.

Get your facts streight, this is a FULL version : what do you
think Direct X is.. it is a runtime for Direct Play, Direct Sound,
Direct everything on your system.. the page that you go to
that says 10KB is only the install launcher.. the actual
package is approx 7.8 MB to DL.... that is Full Version without installer (which you DL first)..

I wish you people would read the FAQ's before spouting off.. and proving that they don't research information.. all the while they are just ASS-Uming information from someone's posting. That in turn makes me mad.

Dx9 is required for SFC3 Beta patch, at least I thought it was. I have had zero trouble with Dx9 Beta and current. Games fully functional under Dx9 so far...

Just to make sure everyone is clear on this...

Directx runtime install = an appelet that scans your current install, and downloads only the files needed to install, then does the install without saving the files in a way in which you can run or use them again (it saves the files in a .tmp folder that is hidden in the admin user profile, and cleared later).  "Runtime" reffers to the fact that the install is done at runtime, and cannot be run after, using the same files.

The opposite of "Runtime" install is "Redistributable".  The re-distributable distrobution of direct x is meant for people who need to install the library's on computers that do not have internet acess.  This is a program that contains all files nedded to install direct x, and is also the distro of directx that comes with most games.

Hope that clears up a bit of confusion.
