Nice! Massive improvement since the original textures - the one's that look like they came from a Norway? Anyway, will definetely D/L this one, any chance of seeing one shaped like the first WIP you posted? Err... USS Persuasion I think it was called - same layout as the Sovvy but with these pieces you know which one I mean?

Thanks for comment. Yea will some people show there wip's mostly done. I show more of the entire process. Which is why it baffles me why people rip into my textures sometimes when all I have done is mapped em out. I guess that was just some troll

I think that was the Persuasion.   Yea I can release it.  It will be a little bit. I have about 400 saves of files at various levels.  Have to back track to find just where abouts it is.  Thats the one Vichama thought was a cross between an Interpid and a Sovvy.

My only issue is lack of textured phaserbanks or torpedo launchers, but it is defenetly a decent looking ship now.

I only know how to do the hardpoints for SFC3 and even then most seem to fire from the center of the ship.  If you want me to do a conversion from SFC2 to SFC3 then I would be more than happy to.     My email is vichama@frost-works.com

Vichama- the hardpoints for SFC3 only determine where on the UI layout the weapons appear.  If the actual model has no hardpoints, the weapons will come from the center.  The hardpoints on the model determine where the actual shot comes from.

I can convert it too if ya want James

The blue ring on the edge of the saucer is intended to be the phaser banks.  My explanation is that it simply makes more sense to put the phaser banks there where they can fire in all directions, rather then on the top and bottom of the saucer.

I made them blue to indicate new phaser technology.  Some power is always diverted to the phasers at ALL times, thus reducing the time it takes to fully charge them.  So it has phasers        I could mark on the bitmap where the saucer rim is mapped to. That would allow you to change the blue to a more traditional dark grey. The weapons pod can be thought of as a torpedo launcher as well. I honestly do not know, what a torpeodo launcher looks like.

Vichama that would be cool if you would convert it to SFC3.  I would like it to have HP's 1st though.  Can anyone do the HP's for SFC2 before it gets converted?

I figured out the HP's. Did em up using the FBB UI.  Might work on some damage textures. Hope to post a pic of the break mod later.

Here is the link. I  changed the textures a bit.  This download contains 512 x512 maps.  If anyone wants I can upload 1024 x 1024's to my yahoo club.

It is scaled to 690 meters,  hardpoints done using FBB UI.   Final poly count aprox 6600.

Then how do you get the SFC3 hardpoints to use the hardpoints that fire from a certain spot?  Trial and error?  Because I have hardpoints that I place on the rear of the ship firing forward and vice versa.

James, do you want anything in particular weapon wise?  Such as how many phasers and torpedos do you want?  And what class is the ship?

I have  no idea how SFC3 works as I don't have it.  It is intended to be a DN.  I gave it the FBB UI for SFC2.  So it has 8 heavy weapon slots and 6 light. total of 14. AS far as how may phasers and photons. Isn't that determined by how the player builds the ship?

Sorry I can't be of much help with SFC3.

Here is the UI I used if that helps.

btw I updated the zip file about 3 hours after I posted it. If you got it right away, be sure to redownload it. As I fixed a small mesh error and added a texture I forgot.

Actually, the hardpoints you put on your ship do determine the origin of the weapons emission.

The data that is used for the ui is found in the xxxxx.gf file.  I believe the utility that ddredix (sp) did will write that information directly to the .gf file relieving you of the need to cut and paste all the icons in photoshop.  Followed by writing all their coordinates down and finally entering them in the .gf and hoping it saves and displays them  properly ingame.

U.S.S. Black Elk = "Baby Brother of The Bradbury-Class" by Lance Of "The Officer's Bible" @ The Trekker. Looks simillar to to the Diligent-Class, too.

But beautiful design nonetheless.

Yes Both the Bradbury and the Diligent were influences on this ship. Kinda merged them together and added a few of my own touches.
