Some people have liked the missions on DOE. Some have felt they are too hard. However, whether you had a string of good draws or bad draws, one thing remains clear. It is possible to draw a ship bigger than the code intended for you to be able to draw.
Tracey has checked her patrol missions and found a glitch. A parameter in the C++ code was not getting updated properly from its default value. What this means is, while, the calculation was still set to center on 0.85 times your BPV, it was possible for you to get an opponent of any size. Thus a FF could on occaision draw a DN. That was "rare" given the math, but it was possible. Naturally, given the number of missions played on DOE, it has happened more than once to more than one person.
So here is the deal. Tracey has corrected the code so that the parameter gets updated, and is at the moment recompiling the code. When I take the server down at midnight, we will replace the six affected patrol missions. (The A and B versions of the three patrols.)
You will need to download the new missions from my website. (See my sig for URL). Just uncompress the six missions into your DOEConverter folder, run the FromDOE shell and then run the ToDOE shell. I'll post within this thread when the new download is ready. You should be able to get it and install it even before I am done cleaning the database.
Hopefully, this will fix the severe mismatching that some people have experienced. You average draw over 100 missions should remain the same, but no more FF's drawing DN's. My apologies for the discomfort some have felt up until now!
