On the neutral coop problem, I seem to recall allied players from different races could do limited neutral coop (like first mission only) before it stopped working. Maybe that was the same for same-race players, but my recollection is allies were better than species-mates.

Regarding test servers, I'm asking Castrin now about possibly running NW's scripts AND the Taldren ones under the test server kit so we can run through the entire list and chart the DV effects from each mission with as many different variables as possible. This would take a lot of time and coordination. One thing I'm wondering about is if we could create a web-based reporting tool to track test results. To take best advantage of the testing, the DV change should be set at 1 point per mission, with a wide range of starting DVs and different empire/cartel hex ownership overlaps. Politics would have to be closely monitored, of course.

This patch specifically does not address Dynaverse related issues, save perhaps the last entry in the readme.  The Dyna still needs to be fixed.

I installed the patch and brought out a mauler ship, and in the course of the battle the mauler was destroyed. It was reparable, but the hardpoint was blacked out like any other hardpoint.  Is there something wrong or am I being stupid and missing something obvious?  It wouldn't be the first time.

Are you sure the patch installed correctly (check the title page)? I have just finished a couple of games with maulers and it behaved correctly, ie was not destroyed even though most of the other points were, and batteries were lost.

It's 2538.  That was the first thing I checked.  Besides, it overwrote strings and aastrings and help and racenames etc.   Was the fix geared to predefined mauler ships rather than the mauler itself?  I was using a ship I had created, not a stock ship like the R-FAL.

I was using some of Firesoul's additions as well as an original Sabretooth, in GSA Co-op Ace missions. Of course this doesn't prove that it is fixed, so I shall go and try and break some maulers.  

Well, experiments with Falcons, a single hardpoint ship, lead me to believe the mauler is fixed.

IIRC any modification to the shiplist from stock  can  cause  the file not to get changed....

The best way to patch is :

Full uninstall....deletion of any missed files....

Fresh install........full patch to current version(large patch)...

It is a little more inconvenient....but it ensures a clean upgrade.....as game modifications can cause the short patch not to apply correctly....

If you allready went that route....I'd try a re-install...

Will it do any damage if, after the uninstall and reinstall, I replace the shiplist and fighterlist with my own?

That shouldnt be a problem at all.......

Re-install.....patch......back up your stock shiplist....then swap in yours....

"IF" this then causes problems....you might have to re start your modding with a new shiplist...

If your using shipedit....you can just use the export/import feature to just move one ship into the list...
