I have decided to release just 1 version of this style mesh.  This will be the one.  This will be my 1st ship textured in PSP.

Cool design! You are braver than I am...I'm sticking to pre-tos for awhile, as they are easier to texture. When I get better texturing, then I'll dazzle y'all with some cool designs. Keep it up, bud!

DON'T EVER THROW DESIGNS AWAY!!!! You may decide to re-work one, or just be bored some day and pull it out and make the ship that Paramount see's and makes for next movie. Hey, it could happen.

I am not throwing any designs away.  Just thought I would focus on 1 for the sake of finishing something

I back up all my other ones on a disk.  This way I can put all my energy on 1 mesh. I also thought that then others in the forum could do the kitbashing if they wanted.  Maybe I release 2 versions but most are very similar to one another.

You guys bring up a good point.  Modeling and texturing is an art. Nobodys earlier works will look that good. But in order to grow,  never throw out any of your work. Other wise you risk losing your creative energy in the medium. This happened to me in music.

Ok well I have been texturing and here is an update. I like my design you see in the earlier pic , but I am saving that excluseivly for my Norway mesh.

I will not be adding too much more other than its name and NCC number, some detail on the nacels. PLus windows
I lightened  it if up some so it looks less pirate and more Fed now.

Then I really want to figure out I-maps and hardpoints which may take me awhile.

The boats on the saucer are meshed in and need to be raised up some.

I really like how smooth the top of the saucer section looks and the blue line around it.   Just a thought though.  What would it look like if you made a section of the blue line on the back side of the saucer into a red line for an impulse engine?

Vichama, taking your advise-though it can't be seen is this pic. At any rate I have the impulse too red at the moment.

Still will be awhile.  Gotta fix a lot of little things, like window size and a flickering face I just found after altering the mesh.

This pic shows the combination  weapons pod/obsevation decks.

Note how I have light glow on the bottom saucer- but no lights.  AS is is now, both the top and bottom saucer are mapped to the same texture. Was hoping to get away with it to save on bitmaps.c Maybe I could add something there to make it look right.
