Mission problems with SFC3 Single Player?
« on: March 21, 2003, 07:12:23 am »
Greetings all,

I've been searching for a problem I've been having in the single player campaign as the Federation.  I'm supposed to run around scanning all these Romulan platforms, sensor arrays, and starbase using the holographic subversion stuff.  Fine, no problem and I complete the part successfully.  But, when I get to the second objective, sending a covert away team to the surface - I can't find any planet or other object within transporter range of the mission way point to send them!

Is there a good place where I can get some help with this?  I'm stuck at the moment, and I have been utterly thrilled so far with the campaign.  SFC is by far the best starship combat series that I have ever played, so I'm chomping at the bit to finish the campaign!

Thanks much.

It could be the magical mystery cloaking planet bug, although I've never known it to happen during that mission. The planet should be next to the base station... What I've done with missions where the planets have vanished is to allocate the planet as one of the pre-programmed targets (ALT plus 5, 6, 7 or 8). Then it doesn't cloak or vanish.

Credo what do you do when the planet is gone after only seconds... Not enough time to even allocate it as a target....If you tell me I just have to live with it until it gets fixed I will, I can follow orders. I just want to know if it something that I am doing wrong...

Umm... Sorry, Cirius, I'm afraid that you might have to suck it down, I'm afraid. I usually click on the planet straight away, I've never seen a planet vanish while I've targetted it. If it goes down at the start of the mission, then I guess you'll have to try to replay the mission. It doesn't seem to be an always-recurring bug, so hopefully sooner or later you'll complete the mission.
