One more stupid question. I have the Op missions.zip , Op+refit, & NW_EAWtoOP_Campaigns. What else do I need from your site to run the EAW campaign on OP with your shiplist?

OPMissions.zip -- EvilDave missionpack for OP  *check*
op_plusrefit_shiplist-20030320.zip (version 1.2) *check*
NW_EAWtoOP_Campaigns.zip -- Campaign (.MCT) files *check*

You lack the EAW mission scripts themselves... EAW_campaigns_for_OP-20030303.zip which
DOES include some .MCT files, but without the ED material references. So the MCT files here
get replaced by the contents of NW_EAWtoOP_Campaigns.zip .

Hi Firesoul!

Can you post the link again to your converted EAW missions ported to OP?  I can't seem to locate those anymore.  Just loaded up a fresh install of OP with the patch and your Shiplist and would very much like to have the old missions put back in place for a more complete experience.

Thanks!

What is the proper order to install these Files? And also, I looked on Firesouls site, But didn't finrd the EAW_campaigns_for_OP-20030303.zip file, Any other place have It?
Thanks.

Ok.
IN ORDER:
1- NW's Missions:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/sources_and_utils/EvilDave/OPMissions.zip  (currently the most updated)
2- the EAW campaigns for OP:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/EAW_missions/EAW_campaigns_for_OP-20030303.zip
3- The campaign files that mix both of the above for maximum ribbed pleasure:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/sources_and_utils/EvilDave/NW_EAWtoOP_Campaigns.zip  (replaces some .MCTs. That's ok.)

Everything above can be found by surfing through  http://klingon.stasis.ca/ .
The OP+ shiplist works PERFECTLY with all of the above:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/OP_plusrefit/op_plusrefit_shiplist-20030320.zip
Check the readme for proper installation. Backup your own files or get the original shiplist files from:  http://klingon.stasis.ca/sources_and_utils/#orig

I spent much time testing the EAW campaigns recompiled to OP (and fixing them) in the last few months. I would install the above files prepared onto a Tester's OP version (2534,  2535, 2536..) and play a given single-player campaign from beginning to end. The above works.

NOTE: Try to avoid starting a campaign in Advanced era. I think the single player D2 doesn't know how to start in advanced.
ie:  (taken and reported during testing)

Instead, edit "MetaAssets\ServerProfiles\SinglePlayer\Time.gf" and change one of the eras listed at the bottom of that file to "30". That should put the campaign in the beginning of the Advanced era, some years prior to the Taldren X2 ships.
Be sure to pick the corresponding era when starting your campaign.

ie: Late era changed to Advanced.
Code:

2         = 30 // Late becomes Advanced Era

*scratches her head*

Anyone been having a problem with the OP+ stuff?

I loaded it on tonight, and started playing a campaign with it. When I moved into Klingon space with my NCA, the first scout mission I got had the probe I fired to see the ship start circling around the ship repeatedly, followed by a CTD. Since then, every mission I take inside KE space has caused a CTD. I'm not sure if its OP+ or something else, I was playing Hydran earlier tonight with an original shiplist, and didn't have the problems...

*wonders if its her FCL model. hrm. Will do more testing and post*

I'd delete it now, but I can't. As soon as I post this, I play scout again, and it doesn't do it. Of course. It wants me to look like an idiot.

*checks to make sure she copied ship and fighter list to both spots*

Hmm. I copied all the files to the right spots, the figher list looks unchanged. Shipnames and Strings to assets/strings, shiplist/fighterlist to Assets/Specs and /MetaAssets...

Still wondering if its the model though. I replaced a bunch of visual files once, and the photon torpedos acted like that, and the game again crashed. But I didn't change the probe visual, and its crashing without doihng that.

I doubt it was. I'm gonna try it with a different ship if it does it again. Hate to think a P81 model caused it, but...

On second check, I'm gonna test it in the morning. I'm betting it just might be my new kca model causing it, that's shown up every time it's crashed. Damn. *mutters*

*checks her models* Sure enough, I'm an idiot. Ignore me. Forgot to rename the D7 model to kca, from kd7.

And just for a playtesting comment, since I'm playingiOP+ for the first time, I love the new stuff

Too bad the F-DNHdr is expensive to operate with large fast missiles

Ok.. so if I understand properly, you probed a ship with no model. Ok.

Essentially. It had something of a model there (I think) but didn't respond to it properly. The new ship list is really neeto! Fun to face down all sorts of new and interesting problems from the other guys, even in single player.

I've always been a fan of the NCA/NCC tho, and still wander towards that, to play myself.

How do I make the shipnames file give me the right names in player ships? It seems to actually work right when its making AI ships, but player ones are still glopping out of shipnames.gf, which still blatantly ignores any edits to its shiplist.

I have to agree - this is the first time I've played with the OP+ and I'm loving it!
Great work Firesoul!

Those seeking models for the OP+ ship list are encouraged to honor Fleetdock 13 for a fine selection of TOS ships, all races.

They're not in SFC's style.
.. really, the only ships that need models in OP+ are the tugs. The rest don't need models as per the basic OP+ shiplist.

Of course, it's all right to mod your own shiplist if you like any 3rd party model.

Just one random rant, cause I can.

the K-C7V was the brightest idea they had. Any chance the other BCVs might be made more like it, in the next revision?

The C7V was more stylistically correct to me, as what a BCV should be. Using the nice BC model, rather than the clunky CV model like the UFP and a few others do. For converting the F-BCV, it only takes switching around one torp tpoint and one missile point, and moving the other missile point to a 'valid' spot, to make it a BCG with fighters, like the C7V is a C7 with fighters.

I don't follow.. you want the standard model used because it looks better?

Essentially what I mean is (for UFP) using the Excelsior model rather than the same model as the CVA and SCS. And the equivalent else-empire.

Just a matter of relinking which model file it looks for, and minor adaptation of hardpoints to changed UI... maybe not even worth it, cept that I like the UFP one better that way ;b
