Amarillo RELEASED!

Finally got it finished...sux when you throw out your back and sit in front of a computer for very long. She's all ready to go, hp/dp, imaps (will release SFC1 version in a few days). No break mod as I still haven't learned those yet. Here's a link for it...not showing on site as there seems to be some kind of glitch.

Can I ask what class ship this would be? Exploration Cruiser? Just so I have an idea of where I might be able to stick it in a shiplist. Also, if its Pre-TOS, that means no shields? no transporters? etc.
Any suggestions as to what SSD this ship might have?
Thanks for the model by the way...

I'd have to re-chk Starfleet Museum, but I think it's an Escort Cruiser; seems it was primarily used to escort the Yorktown Carrier Class. As for shields and transporters, I'd say yes to at least one transporter, and no on sheilds. Enterprise kinda throws things off. The UESN considered this a small cruiser, so a primary role as an escort seems right. This is one of the designs that doesn't really have much info posted at SFM.

I plan on doing all the pre-tos ships at SFM (mainly the ones from the Earth-Romulan War era), as well as some designs of my own. Thanx for the support.

The Amarillo class was the UESN's small escort cruiser - fusion powered it had an extremelly short range - like all pre M/AM ships; it was the contemporary escort to the Pioneer class cruiser. Mainly used to protect convoys of Bison class freighters or in fleet actions backing up Pioneers.

This is the page with spec, unfortunately Masao didn't write a specific history for the ship but you can read about it in articles on other ships like the article for the Kretchet:

Basically it would have to have very very weak stats in a combined shiplist to balance it against TOS, TMP and TNG ships. They only had lasers and fusion tipped warheads, I usually use Ph3s for the lasers and the weaker drones for the fusion torpedoes. I also give my Pre-TOS ships very weak shields otherwise firefights are over pretty fast - which is no fun

Sandman,

I've tried to d/l your file from two different computers and both times, I get errors with the downloaded zipfile.  Could you check the file to see if there are any corrupt components?

Sorry!

Thanx for the feedback! I'll chk that tonight and post here when fixed (hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning). I'll also do it as a .rar file, to see if that works better. If you don't have it, you can d/l from pcworld.com Winrar(sp?).
