Now I have good reference pics for this thanx to Pataflafla, I have started working on the FASA Remora...2 1/2 hours build time so far, 3256 poly's; still have to do the nacelle (ugh) and the strut. What do you think so far?

That's just sickening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did  THAT in 2.5 hrs!?!?!? It took me that long to adjust the impulse drive mesh on the Northampton I just did!!!! LOL
Looks great so far.
I think we've got a winner here.

Two points:

  • Think about making an LOD in the 1000 poly range for me to texture with lo-rez textures.  This way we don't end up with a 45mg model like the Northampton I just did. I didn't start considering that until way late in the process.
  • Go ahead and use your imagination, best judgement or any combination thereof to mesh an impulse drive. You kinda have free reign here since there isn't one depicted in the schematics. Nothing you do can really be wrong. Show us whatcha got!

Your meshing skills have come a long way since our last collaboration. It's like no comparison at all. WOW!!
(Can you believe that was a year ago we were working on the Daedalus? lol)

Very nicely done Sandman   you might want to up the scale of the bridge. I'm looking at my miniature of the remora and notice that the bridge has a half moon shape with 2 struts out the back its very different from the standard
TMP Bridge, even though it has approximately the same dimensions. your on the right track keep up the fine work.

I think it looks better with a close double nacelle....... not strictly FASA, but more representative of Trek Canon......

Just an opinion.....

Lookin good though........

That or the flat part the bridge is on is too large...lol

I like the fact that it's higher poly, makes it look nice. What's this thing going to run? 4500-5000?

Maybe as an upgraded refit version, but  the first version has got to be like the original.  This is my favorite Star Trek ship design ever.  I have been hoping someone would make it.

Here's a few pics of what I did today...except my nacelles didn't look as good. This one is a P81 nacelle. Also added the impulse engine in the only place that looked right for the design; under the tail of course.

Looks great, looking at the picture I have in the fasa book, you might need to scale up the warp nacelle a little bit.  It's a tad too small.

Hi Sandman
It gets better and better you might want to mirror the Intercooler on th warp engine so on a single engine ship
they match. the inter-cooler is where some the reaction control thrusters are located on the aft of the warp engine
on each side.

it gives a single warp engine ship a more balanced look. Other than that Keep up the fantastic work
