Hi-res stock models for SFC-OP
« on: December 24, 2019, 02:47:50 pm »
I've been trying to find a bunch of high-resolution models of the original ships in the starfleet command series. I love playing the game but the graphics are becoming an eyesore. I've been particularly looking for a better ulysses and a lakota/ent-B model to work with, but all of these models seem to have been dropped by everyone who used to host them. I've already downloaded the models from Darkdrone's pack (http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163396838.0.html), which has helped immensely. Wondering if anyone can help to contribute to my collection. Thanks! :D

Also, I know the stock F-BB/Yamato has never really got much attention, but i found an armada-2 mod where they actually made a decent model of it. Unless anyone has an already hi-res version of it, is there a way to port an armada-2 model to SFC? Pic below.

also does anyone have shipedit for both SFC2 and SFC OP? It's impossible to find nowadays.

Thanks for that, can't believe I missed that page. Hopefully if people start uploading their old models, we can get a decent database made up for people to get easy access

Hey Darkdrone, i saw you made a mod way back porting star trek armada 2 models to SFC2. (https://www.moddb.com/mods/project-armada-2/addons/project-armada-2-full-model-pack). If I provided the yamato BB model to you, could you port it? I haven't once seen anyone try to make that fat blob of horrible textures look decent.

Or if it's easy enough, I could do it. I just gotta learn how.  There's some other models like the Yamato above that I would like to port into SFC from the armada 2 mod, which are basically remastered stock ships.

you made my day. This mod has tons of content, including mirror universe ships. Unfortunately some of the models in the mod look like direct ports, but the fed ships look mostly updated.

I'll dm you if/when i get a response.

update so u guys don't think i disappeared,

I contacted SquireJames via moddb, steam and even facebook (i have my methods ;) ), haven't received a response yet. Not giving up, i'm determined to get a sexy starfleet command yet again. Not to say that the OP+ mod isn't amazing, because it is, but I personally romanticize TMP era over TOS and want to prioritize the original models.

Again Darkdrone, thank you so much for offering your help on this. I wish I could offer more help than just contacting and getting permissions.

I hope this late response is still OK with everyone.  I've been a bit tied up since I retired in RL.  At any rate I dearly love OP Yamato model !!!  Very nice !!

Unfortunately I don't even have a means of opening ...  and reviewing ships to redo textures any more.

Looks really nice !!

So what can we do to convince you to have this ported to SFC... or even perhaps bridge commander if anyone is feeling ambitious enough  :o ?
