F9thDaihak's X-ships for Starfleet Command III
« on: July 03, 2019, 04:25:46 pm »
F9thDaihak had re-textured some x-ships for SFC3.

https://web.archive.org/web/20150504175706/http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/USS_Majestic_TMP_FXCA;100678

https://web.archive.org/web/20150504185636/http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/USS_Nobility_TMP_FXDN;100680

https://web.archive.org/web/20150504170858/http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/USS_Araxes_TMP_FXDD;100679

When gamefront went down, they were mirrored on nexus mods by the gamefront archiver. However, when gamefront came back, nexus closed down access to these files. The new gamefront doesn't have them. Would anybody here happen to have them?

EDIT:  You are in luck!  Found the first two, took me a minute to realize it looked familiar.  You can find this ship via my Typhon Pact mod under the Assets/Model folder as: Excaliburx. https://www.moddb.com/mods/sfciii-typhon-pact-mod/addons/typhon-pact-v4-0I don't believe we modified this model at all from the original file (see below).

As far as the third ship, this is semi-cannon.  It's a Bellerophon Cruiser/Light Cruiser.  You can find the model file in its entirety from my MirrorrorriM mod https://www.moddb.com/mods/sfciii-typhon-pact-mod/addons/mirrorrorrim-mod-2019-v-2.  The file will be found in the Assets/Model portion of the download as follows: RBellerophon CL, however, you'll notice on the screen shot it has been customized for this mod and will have the Terran Federated Republic banner and accompanied images on the ship.  You can remove the customization or create your own by using the modeling tools found here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/sfciii-mirrorrorrim-v-10/downloads/sfc-game-modding-programs

Note:  Both models have been sized to their class sizes for these mods and have had the phaser and photon torpedo arcs matched correctly to their intended graphics on the hull.  If you use the arc assignment program provided on the modding tools download, you'll see where we assigned phaser and photon torpedoes and the number of each.  If you want to add more than provided, you'll need to modify the wire frame model (tool for this is also with that download). Note, adding more firing arcs other than what we assigned, could cause an exception error or not show up properly in the game, so you'll need adjust the customization with the provided tools.

Well thanks for the response, that excalibur x you have pictured is the original version of the model. I can find that one easy. I'm looking for the version with the modified textures. Same for the Araxes and the Nobility. You sure you don't have the original Araxes? I'm not one for modifying textures.

This is what I have available.  The link for the modding tools, will provide you with programs to restore/add textures, glow models, etc.

I still have the ships I think, not sure if I still have the build files though those were probably lost over time

Have the DD, CA, and DN but cannot attach them to the site
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

It's good to know you are around and you still have access to the ships. When you say you cannot post to the site, do you mean here or gamefront?

Thank you for the models! Did you ever make registries for the cruiser and the dreadnaught, I think the ones on Starfleet Command 3 file had them.

Sorry for the delay, but I have them up now on the folder with a new GAFY folder there.  One of these days, need to get Mare Imbrium back up and running now that I have some online storage again.  When Mackie went down, so did my original site.  :p

Probably not, but the one on the DD should fit them all. I think I left those blank and Centrus had a idea of what he wanted them named. I think I did the DD only as a "this is where I wanted them placed", but usually there was no obligation to do it that way. I did them in the style of the Chabot redesign he did, kind of as a way to have ships go with it.

I still have the original PSP files, but no longer have a way to open and edit them, if you want them I can send them. I can see what ships I have of those left for as well.

see if it works, its a zip with the orginal psp files I have left

ZIP opened up, first thing I attempted to do was to convert them over to .PSD and .EPS formats.

Went to open it in my trusty old PSP7, and it doesn't know how to do that (PSPImage was apparently introduced in PSP8).

Think I have an installer around somewhere for PSP8.  I'll dig it out.  In the meantime, I was able to use a conversion program toat convert these to .EPS and .PSD, but it May have merged the layers down into one image.

Think I might have the psp update to 8.1 it is like a 24 meg file

You had the same problem I had, if they are all raster layers it could convert to a PSD if there are vector layers it would merge them all into one. Just about all the files I have have vector layers in them. You figure corel draw that bought PSP would have kept a way to convert the files but nope they did not. Stil wish they had never bought them as they killed PSP to promote corel.

Managed to find an installer for PSP9, and have them opened up and converted out to PSD as well now.  I'll see if I can't open both my "portable" PSP7 install and the installed PSP9 and copy in my vectorized registry positions so I can add in the registries. Which raises the question.. which registries need to be on these?
